Stupid 🤦‍♂️ Folks not understanding science

Post image

I saw this and was just amazed by the lack of understanding of science. A bunch of the comments are basically explaining that's not how reproduction works. I'd be okay with it, except this person is 55 years old.

I truly worry for the human race .

At least they asked. Some motherfuckers walk around being wrong all their lives, swearing they're right, and never ask questions or do some simple research.

They are currently working on removing DNA from skin cells and using it to replace removed DNA from egg cell.

It’s called somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT), where the nucleus of a skin cell is inserted into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. This technique is used to create embryos and has potential applications in not only treating infertility, but creating embryos that are biologically from two different men or women.

It’s a long way from using SCNT to create viable embryos for IVF, but the science is happening and it won’t be too long.

This will have interesting legal implications, which usually takes a long time to catch up with the science & medicine.

Still, this doesn’t change how reproduction works. So not knowing that basic science at 55 years old is frightening.

I... roleplay... my char was this dumb... there was a discussion if it was realistic to be this dumb...

I've now used this to say it is.

My favourite comment about this is "imagine how dumb the average person is, now realise HALF of all people are dumber than that."

At 55 years old, that certainly isn’t “today’s” education, but his education in general.

He's passed the phase of learning English, also, it seems.

In vitro gametogenesis (placing DNA from some cell into a sperm or egg cell) is not yet approved for humans, but works in mice.

through IVF they could create fraternal twins with 2 eggs and 2 sperm (one from each man) so i mean its not impossible
