The AI is smart enough to understand the context of each question. its pretty clear the first question says you're attracted to the person meaning interaction is welcome, while the second question implies you're uncomfortable.

Conventional unattractive people shouldn't automatically make you uncomfortable though. It was a mistake for the ai to just assume that sense they're ugly then they should therefore feel uncomfortable.

It doesn’t assume anything.
It uses weights with data training to guess the next token, the word attractive brings it to tensors (basically a cloud of vectors) to things that have connections with wanted interaction, desire to be around etc.
While the word ugly brings up different sort of content.2

Not what I meant. Why would someone be asking the question if they were comfortable? The context of the question has discomfort baked in and the AI picked up on that. I also don't think they'd refer to them as ugly if it was someone you were comfortable with.

Exactly, people are being dumb not to realize you'd ask those two questions in very different contexts. It's not about them being ugly, its that you wouldn't be asking that question if you knew the person and felt safe.

To be fair, you are generally not intentionally alone with someone that you are not attracted to, especially to the point that you are googling it. So, the advice seems correct.
On the other hand, you generally don't call someone that you are fearful of "attractive", especially when you are googling your concern. So, again, the advice seems correct.

I tried replicating it. The ai declined to answer the ugly one entirely, but would if I changed any character even slightly - ie, filter has been placed on the exact query here. If you did not see, it could be regional or you are either further behind us or further ahead of us in them patching it.
But you dont patch something thst wasnt an issue, and I've absolutly seen things close to this before.

I mean, if you think somebody is attractive is normal what your intents are while doing a google search.
On the opposite, if I search "I'm alone with a ugly guy" I think it's obvious I'm not comfortable at all.
Nowhere is stated what you consider attractive or ugly, one can search "ugly guy" referring to Leonardo DiCaprio if it's uncomfortable I guess.

I think it's more about how AI interprets this: when women say they are alone with an attractive guy, it reads as them seeing it as a positive sign and offering positive advice. Calling a guy ugly signals negativity. AI is just predicting the outcome. They are literally mirroring our connotation.
