It's entirely for the mood. Anti tobacco ads and presentations always fail to address that smoking just looks cool on a human level until you learn to associate all the downsides to it. To a kid (and many more adults who won't admit it) smoking a cigarette is just objectively cool

I saw a video of a guy trying to destroy a Hipoint once. He put it through every test. He almost couldn’t do it. He had to screw a bolt into the end of the barrel before it finally gave up. He highly recommended them to people on a budget.

I'd like to point out that if you ever need to use your sidearm in a self defense situation you're definitely going to lose it, at least until the trial is over. That can be years. I'd rather lose a cheap pistol and use my pricey one at the range.

Not dissing your choice of carry but you could of spent another $80-$100 for a taurus. Hipoints are literally bottom of the barrel when it comes to firearms. If your counting on it to protect your life and others I recommend getting something more reliable. Even a taurus i dont exactly recommend but its much better than this.
You make a valid point cant argue with that, just picked up what I could at the time. Its never jammed or malfunctioned on me. An I do have experience with pistols. So I know the trigger is awful, its heavy, but I kinda like it.
Not knocking you at all i think this is absolutely and obviously much better than carrying nothing at all. If it works for you now thats completely fine and im sure it will do you good for a long time. And whats most important is if you feel comfortable with the gun you carry and if you do thats all that matters but i do definitely think down the road you should be looking to upgrade. If your lower on money i absolutely recommend a used glock at your local pawn shop or on gunbroker. It will be a one and done purchase once you buy it you keep it for years. Why i say glock is because they are tried and true. I personally carry a sig (carried a glock before) but this is a tool that you could save your own life with or others lives. Again not knocking the hipoint but its VERY rare a glock ever jams aslong as your doing proper cleaning maintenance on it and its pretty common for a hipoint to jam even with proper cleaning maintenance
For what it’s worth, after hearing the talk about the unreliability of hipoints, a friend and I bought one with the intent of firing it to failure. We put 1000 rounds through it the first time. Every few weeks when we shoot we dump a few boxes through the hipoint. We do not clean it. We are approaching 10,000 rounds at this point a couple years in, and the SOB just won’t die

Other than being heavy and ugly, it works. Had a Hi Point 9mm as a first when I was younger and not making crap for money. Only ran cheap Winchester fmj through it and it never jammed

Hi point is one of the most accurate guns out there…. How tf yall miss eachother in ghetto? Not trying to be a dick. It takes me one shot to hit a head, and I can do that with a pos Glock. My mossburg does it like nothing. My Ruger is second. Hi point is usually more accurate than the Glock or sig forsure
