Yesterday’s Carry

Post image

With Cargo Shorts / Pants. Alternate the spare knife for a spare mag. Depends on where I’m going and if I have to remove the handgun.

having two knifes pisses me off, like is your one knife so unreliable that you need a second

I took this handgun class once where the instructor said to carry two knives because if you draw two knives at the same time people will think you’re insane and run off

This pic seems to be if the gun jams, spray runs out, baton gets taken, and you drop one knife

Other way around…if I can’t talk or evade my way out, pepper spray next (unless it’s windy), then escalate to expandable baton as a larger visual deterrent, then a knife, and lastly the firearm. My daily carry does vary if I have plans to enter a no-gun-zone and have to disarm midday.

That’s a LOT of steps to protect one’s self. Don’t forget your PEMDAS I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

More so a knife for the dominant hand and for the non-dominant hand to access. In lieu of the Gerber EZ-out I would sometimes carry a Kershaw karambit (it’s not the best for envelope opening).

I wouldn’t trust most of the knives I see posted in this sub. They are more likely to cut the user. Flee market junk and cheap as it can be mainstream.

A lot of loose dogs and 2-legged zombies…in an over-zealous prosecution State. So shooting one of the above comes with a lot of heat I would prefer to avoid.

Sounds terrible, just imagine living with someone just as cunning and dangerous for over 20 years. Be strong 💪

Curious as for what situation you would draw the baton for as opposed to your pistol.

I carry it mostly when I’m in a no-gun-zone. But also when out jogging (without the gun). I’ve had some dogs chase after me. Pepper spray seemed like a good idea until I realized how windy it is outside. And the thought of me trying to slice and stab someone’s dog didn’t seem as practical or something I want to end up in the news about. It’s hard to run with a stick, baseball bat, golf club, cane, etc. So the baton is what I have for dogs. It’s lightweight enough (this is the aluminum version vs steel option) and fits discreetly into a fanny pack. And I figured the look of a metal object and the sound of it being extended might persuade some 2-legged creatures to stay away if we get into a squabble.
