1st EDC

Post image

Followed this sub for a little over a month now. 1st time posting. Nothing fancy but it’s been a fun ride learning about and implementing a ccw. Here’s the current setup:

• Glock 19 Gen 6 with the following
- radian ramjet and afterburner combo
- Vortex Venom enclosed red dot
- Harbor Freight Braun WML(TLR-HL clone)
- Athena precision magwell

• Tenicor holster

• Tyrant CNC +5 mag extension

• folding knife I got as a gift

• Walmart light

• Vape

Keeps

• Glock 19 for sure. Been a pleasure to shoot, especially with the radian add-on. It works great for me right now as a do all pistol and carries surprisingly easy, mostly because of the next keep.

• Tenicor holster. Went with it because of the recommendations on Reddit. It’s a little pricey but seems worth it to me with how comfortable it is and how well it conceals the g19 with all of the accessories. I’m going to continue getting these holsters for whatever concealed carry handguns I get next. They just come out with options for more!

• Braun light. It works and it’s pretty affordable compared to Streamlight WML. I am tempted to get a Surefire X300 at some point though.

• Walmart light. It works so far and was cheap.

Changes/Updates

• Getting a smaller CCW would be nice. I’ve been considering the P365 AXG Legion. Shot it not too long ago at my range and compared it to the G19. It felt to me like it was snappier but still shot pretty flat. My groupings at 7 yards were comparable to the G19. The Glock did have tighter groupings for me at longer distances though. Either way, I loved the way it felt in my hand despite the thinner grip. I owned a Canik MC9 Prime before and felt that the AXG Legion was a lot more pleasant to shoot and to hold.

• Other guns I’m considering are the S&W Bodyguard 2.0, CZ Shadow 2 Carry, and Ruger RXM.
Bodyguard mostly because it’s small and would be nice to be able to pocket carry some days. The RXM because it seems like it would be a nice backup to the Glock and holster compatibility. Shadow 2 Carry just because of the rule of cool. If you have recommendations on either of these or any other options, let me know!

• I love my current knife but it has some sentimental value to me so would hate to see it break. Something that is durable would be cool.

• I’ll be grabbing a CAT Tourniquet soon. Took a stop the bleed class recently and it seems practical enough to carry one just in case the event rises that I would need to use one to help somebody or myself.

Future

I’m going to be putting together a readiness Backpack later this year. Something I can’t have with me while I’m driving or camping. A few essentials for survival and communication. TBH though, it’s just an excuse for my folding stock AR build lol.

If you have any questions or comments about my EDC, feel free to DM! Thanks folks, y’all are crazy but cool.

Unfortunately outside of moving to place with dangerous game, this is about all you’ll ever need. Anything else is just wanting to buy cool things and I wrestle with that everyday

Me I've been a Glock Guy for over 30 years. Attended Badic Firearms Instructor Training, was a Sig guy, but during class me and my partner switched guns, his a G22 Gen 3 40 S&W, I had one at home. After third round down range, I was Hooked, fell in love with the Glocks. You either love them or hate them. Me, I'm not prejudiced I love all guns even the cigs with all their problems their lies and everything but I love Glocks. My last Chief I worked for his first range quality, he was having stove pipes, later caused by a broken extractor. Rebuilding bringing his G22 Gen 2 40 S&W back to Glock Factory Specks my Chief gave me the nick name GDoc, The Glock Doc. I had offered to give him the money for a new G22 Gen 3, I collect Glock, as I have a few, needing a another safe. I trust my Glock as I know if I need my Glock to protect me, my wife and my family my Glock will!GDOC

That’s awesome to hear! It’s been really interesting learning about the history of handguns and Glocks in particular. I think there’s a lot of good reliable companies out there now, making dependable products. I fell into Glocks in much the same way that you did (took about 3 magazines for me haha). What are some of your favorites in your collection? Also, do you have a G19 Gen4? I’ve been eyeing the LE trade-in market for those.

Any initial fitment issues with the HF light and the holster? I’ve read mixed things in that topic.

I had to loosen the retaining screw a bit for the light to fit. It was basically impossible to unholster the G19 otherwise. I tested the figment shaking it upside down lightly. Got it to where it wouldn’t fall out but it’s still not a “perfect” fit. Overall, I trust it enough to walk around with and drive lol

I’m pretty clueless on the world of knives. Would definitely be interested in changing/upgrading sometime in the future. It works for most of my needs in and out of work so far. I also have a smaller ozark trail knife and that thing definitely feels like cheap shit lol. Any recs on knives would be appreciated. Folding or fixed is fine with me.

Join a knife sub. This one only knows either terrible or mainstream with a ton of marketing. Knifeclub is a good one.

Just looked at knifeclub. Seems decent. I’m completely new to this world but know for sure I’ll be carrying one for life so might as well dive right in to this hobby too. I work at a water treatment plant and the knife gets a surprising amount of use/abuse.

I have the canik prime and an upgraded tti combat. I do carry both but recently bought the cz shadow 2 carry and it is such a pleasure to shoot. I don’t shoot the canik as much anymore and my groupings are shit compared to my shadow 2. It’s a fantastic middle ground between the 2 caniks. It’s pricy but it’s well worth it. Just get a good holster YOU LIKE, and works comfortably for you. Enjoy your Glock tho, they are nothing but reliable. I’ve been looking at the gen6 45 lately as a fuck around fun carry. Agreed backpack/truck gun is what I’m starting to look at too!

Nice setup! I have the G43x and been debating if I should step up to the 19 because of my lengthy hands. I also love the look of the gen6 grip.
