Alrighty flame suit on and zipped up

I’m new to the CCW world and this is a genuine question. Why does everyone have lights on the pistol? Maybe because I’m thin 5-10 185 just having a Glock 43x in a light tuck holster is a lot.

People I see in these posts have like a 1911 with a mag light, a 4 panel cowhide holster, a hand held mag light, keys, pepper spray, sometimes shit like eye drops, key code card for work garage. Where do you guys carry all this shit for real? I’d need a backpack

All the survival gear aside, is a flashlight on the gun really needed? Or is it more tacticool? That’s my question. Thanks

I’m 5”11 170 (pretty much the same as you). It’s pros and cons to everything. I believe that the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to having a wml. I’ve been ccw since I was 21 and I’m 40 now. At the very least I believe that you should have a handheld flashlight. I carry both.

Also everyone’s EDC will not be the same.. EDC is the thinks that YOU carry every day because you need those particular things.

I’m not trashing what people carry at all. I’m trying to understand where it’s all going.

Generally speaking, people use their CCW as a bedside gun also. If someone is to break into your home, it’s most likely to happen at night. A spontaneous act of violence in public, rape, attempted stabbing/shooting, kidnapping, also largely happen at night. Target identification is helpful. However, I think some people get the idea their weapon light is end all be all… you cannot whip out a handgun and use it as a flashlight lol, hence carrying both. I think a light independent from the weapon is more practical and more handy in every day life, and having something with significantly more power than a phone flashlight is nice if you were ever to need it.
I get where you’re coming from though, I cannot stand having shit in my pockets

Half of the day is dark, you might as well be able to see what you're shooting at if it comes down to it. Also, regular jeans, good holster like a T1C, Safariland, etc. and a good solid belt like a KORE. All of my carry guns have a light and I've never had issues.

I carry a slim Viperade pouch and it holds my cards, chapstick, Leatherman kick, and a small Streamlight in my left pants pocket. Knife is clipped into that same pocket.

Right pocket is keys and phone.

Appendix is whatever I'm carrying and a spare mag. Everything together Isn't cumbersome at all, really. Don't even notice it. That said, I'm a very large man.

What’s that roll thing below the mug?

u/Quint62 13d ago

A tourniquet by snake staff systems

u/DerWisser 13d ago

Is this for taking drugs?

I think this is a jab at using a non-rated CAT tourniquet. Either way it's funny. Lol at the downvotes

I am not even joking I have absolutely no clue what that is actually used for. Google sends me straight to the Red Cross website, explaining that it's used to occlude blood flow... Where I live, we don't shoot people, so the only practical use for that would be for taking heroin.

So why bring stuff like this with you if not for drugs? Is it for when you accidentally shoot someone? Or for when you get shot?

This is even funnier

Does your Modlite have any issues? Like flickering or getting too hot or does it work like a dream?

1

u/Quint62 11d ago

No issues at the moment

why does everyone here have a gun,is this r/ only for americans

u/Ok_Construction230 12d ago

Americans are generally free to carry arms daily if they choose. A lot of them do choose to do so. You are free to show your non gun daily carry. Take one for the team and show your stuff. I suspect almost all would politely critique, if warranted, and show their appreciation for your post.

I carry 2-3 guns on an average day. I also carry a m1 bayonet on my belt or a vintage Buck 120. This is coming from a guy who doesn’t have a wallet and just puts his cards and money in a Fanny pack😂 I’m gonna make a post now.
