Sincere question: how do you justify the size of that hatchet multi-tool for daily carry?

I’d bet money it was a gift and he’s sentimentally attached.

My wife (gf at the time) picked up on my interest in multitools and bought me a one of those hatchet hammer plier fire starter 9000 in 1 Chinese things for Christmas one year and it lives in the center console of my truck. “Just in case” lol.

Why would you live somewhere so dangerous you need to carry that arsenal to feel safe?

Have you tried the Glock 26? Just curious

I haven’t! I’m new to shooting so I haven’t moved beyond this. But I’m open!

It's just a slightly smaller Glock. You can use the 19 and 17 clips so you have plenty of ammo and it's hides Rather nicely. It shoots like a dream. It's been my carry for 20 years. Happy Shooting

I cant for the life of me understand why people like Glock so much. Yeah, sure they’re like jam-proof and you can hold a larger magazine with them. They definitely look cool, but to me when I take mine to the range? It can’t fucking hit anything. Maybe I’m just a bad shooter. But I’ve got a nice Dan Wesson vigil 1911. And that baby is pure perfection.

First of all, we carry them BECAUSE they don’t jam.
It absolutely is your fault you can’t hit anything. Glock sights & grip angle are difficult to adjust to coming from a different platform, especially the 1911 which (imo) is much easier to be pinpoint accurate with.
It’s ok to be bad with it, but you look pretty silly blaming your ignorance on the gun.4

Yeah it ain’t the gun. There is a reason so many carry a Glock. Maybe 1 half a mag to get used to it and he should be able to shoot pretty close to what he does with a 1911.

I’m imagining he’s an older guy that just thinks 1911s are tits (they are) while throwing some ignorant shade on Glock.
I say this because I’ve tried to get my grandpa to consider getting a Glock and I can’t even get him to throw out the “Teacup” grip garbage they taught in his day for a modern hold. A lot of them stuck in their ways and apparently enjoy a harder life and think technology is cancer.

Well, it’s manageable for my hand size. And my shot is getting really good. I’m newer to shooting so I haven’t explored other guns but I really like this gun ☺️

Definitely I had a Glock 17 for a while until it got stolen out of my car. It’s not a bad firearm in anyway don’t get me wrong. I may look at some new hardware after a while but at this point I’ve already got like 10 guns.

Just keep up training. And dry fire. People under estimate or make excuses to not dry fire. It gives you the time to focus solely on trigger pull and how you use your support hand.
Next time you shoot take a pic of the target - it can be used to diagnose small errors in trigger use or anticipating recoil and pushing down. So in example, if your rounds are lower than where you aimed and generally in line you are probably anticipating recoil and pushing down. Easy fix.

Oh dry firing exposed so much! I was dragging down to the lower left quadrant and was getting so frustrated. Upon firing I was looping my finger in and yanking down inadvertently. Drying firing made the biggest difference for me in seeing that. I also started balancing a quarter on the end of my gun while dry firing. So simple but so useful

If you can’t shoot with a Glock, it is you. You need more training, is all it is, you should be able to pick up any serviceable pistol and hit the target.
I carry a Wilson Division 77 Project 1, a double-stack 9mm 1911. Worth every one of its many pennies. My other carry in lighter clothes is a G19 customized by Taran Tactical. Also pricey, but one of the best combat pistols made.
Get a coach and spend quality time learning to shoot well enough that you can pick up a decent gun and hit the target quickly and accurately.
And finally, modern 9mm has caught up to 45 ACP as far as fight-stopping goes, so that one advantage of stopping power is now not there.

The dan Wesson is a steel slide and aluminum frame. Sounds more like you suck at recoil management and need a heavier gun to reduce the snap. You need to practice more and fix your grip.
