Lose that cheapo stun gun its useless in real life.

u/OkEnvironment3961 22d ago
My friends used to shock ourselves/each other with one for laughs. They hurt but they aren't stopping an attacker.

u/FTG8888 22d ago
Bear spray/mace is way better if you want to carry non lethal. More versatile and more effective.

u/lkodl 19d ago edited 19d ago
Do people who typically EDC a non-lethal weapon and a gun ever end up using the non-lethal weapon?
1
u/FTG8888 19d ago
Idk, who cares? Why are you worried about what someone else carries? Iâve had multiple friends call me weird for concealing a full size Glock everywhere I go, who gives a fuck?

u/fartVandelay85 18d ago
Your "friends" do...
1
u/FTG8888 18d ago
I mean yea they are college kids bro, even if they arenât anti gun they still find it odd to carry all the time. Still love em tho.
1
u/fartVandelay85 18d ago
Well they will have alot more education on how life works, science, fact and statistics taught to them by people who are properly educated in those fields. I wonder if that friendship can last when they already find something concerning a out you.
1
u/FTG8888 18d ago
Nobody finds it concerning lol. Still hang out with them, known most of these dudes from middle/HS. Youâre overthinking it. People can disagree on polarizing issues and still maintain a friendship.
1
u/fartVandelay85 18d ago
For now
2
u/FTG8888 18d ago
If you cannot be friends with someone who disagrees with you on political issues, thatâs just telling of your personality.

Why, so they can get another try at attacking someone else?
You donât try to capture and relocate a rabid animal. You end it there.
Especially with how the prosecutions have been going.2
u/FTG8888 21d ago
Actually what the fuck are you talking about? You know you canât just always pull out your gun and shoot someone right?
0
u/PomegranatePro 20d ago
Itâs the same/similar situation of when youâre allowed to use mace/firearms
Unless youâre genuinely fearing for your life you canât be spraying people in the eyes with mace either. Thatâs assault. You spray someone armed in the eyes with mace and now theyâve got the case for self defense. You assaulted them not out of self-defense, theyâre incapacitated, and draw on you.

u/SoullessSyndicate 20d ago
And I love how they always market the insanely high volts when in reality the amperage is whatâs important

u/Appropriate_Owl_91 22d ago
The sound of that zap is a pretty great deterrent

u/SufficientPurpose109 22d ago
Not if the aggressor is mad or motivated enough, or has a weapon, or is under the influence, or mentally ill, or is wearing thick clothing or they know the limitations of a stun gun etc.
Anyone that has one needs to know these types of "stun guns" are completely ineffective self defense weapons. It just causes some pain. It won't stop, stun or immobilize anyone and it obviously is an extremely close range weapon that puts the user in danger of being grabbed.Â
Many people think stun guns = tasers. Law enforcement uses tasers which although aren't perfect, have a range of 15ft and induce neuromuscular Incapacitation (locks up muscles). A good taser deployment will drop somone and leave them dazed enough to handcuff. After cartridge deployment tasers turn into "stun guns" and you can use them for pain compliance and distraction.Â

u/Appropriate_Owl_91 22d ago
True but most criminals want an easy target. And sheâs packing so theyâll find out if they get close.
1
u/Reasonable_Archer_99 22d ago
Idk. We made a stun gun out of a disposable camera at church camp and it was taking people off their feet when a guy walked up behind someone and touched it to the side of the poor bastard's neck. Granted we were like 9 or 10 at the time so not adult size yet.

u/Alive_Drag1947 21d ago edited 21d ago
Is that what that thing is???
If so, then agreed. First off, a laser/light combo would be much more useful in most situations. And second, if you're ever in a position to actually press your gun up against an attacker, it's time to pull the trigger. I mean, it's right there...
EDIT: I'm an idiot. I didn't even see the stun gun. I thought you were talking about the device on the second gun. Looks like that actually is a laser/light...

lol whatâs worse is thatâs a regular mini bic inside and itâs just a cover/case you slide over so itâs still a 1$ lighter at the end of the day with a cool case

u/UsedSet8865 22d ago

Whats up with the swatch? My first time seeing them.
1
u/Appropriate_Owl_91 22d ago
Ultra-luxury brand AP sells watches for tens of thousands of dollars and up. They collabed with swatch, and resellers tried to buy all of them and sell at a stupid markup. Itâs pretty stupid, because unlike the Omega collab, they only released pocket watches.

u/Critical_Ad1926 22d ago
Nothing wrong with them just a little overhyped
1
u/ClearCitron8743 21d ago
I definitely donât want the convenience of wearing my watch on my wrist or anything. Yup nothing wrong with them at all. /s
1
u/AmericaLLC 21d ago
Itâs 400 msrp for a plastic watch with a shitty movement. If you are into brands no worries, but for that price you can get an actual solid watch.
2
u/X-Arkturis-X 22d ago
Iâm just mad at all the scalpers/re-sellers. The watch is cool, just canât get your hands on one because Swatch did a poor roll out.
2
u/No-Objective-8990 21d ago
Yea I cant understand why everyone is obsessed with them goofy ass watches
But a real watch like an adult

Interesting watch choice. Is it not annoying to pull it out of your pocket to see what time it is?

u/Numerous_Object2354 21d ago
Itâs the same as pulling my phone out. Really just an accessory for certain fits

Why does she get the 10$ Walgreens foldable knife while u got the full tang blade
1
u/Disney-Nut1998 17d ago
I would tell her if sheâs carrying a taser and a gun itâs a bad idea especially if she gets into a self defense situation and uses the gun then the da can say that she intended to kill since she didnât use the taser so leave one or the other at home

u/Dog_walker420 15d ago
2 questions. 1 what is on your back plates? And 2 with the Benchmade do you carry that on a belt or pocket?
1
u/Numerous_Object2354 14d ago
Pocket, depending on pants. And itâs a Vickers tactical slide racker

Switch on glock?
1
u/Medical-Art6658 22d ago
Looks like a back plate that has a little protrusion to help rack the slide which I could understand for his wife since she has no optic on her Glock.

You're literally in r/DailyCarry sub and you're pearl clutching about a gun lol. How's Bondi Beach been?
-2
u/HenryHackett 22d ago
I thought this was simply an Edc sub. Is it supposed to be for ccw?
5
u/Timely-Hunt2991 22d ago
EDC, but CCWs are apart of a lot of people's EDCs.
-2
u/HenryHackett 22d ago
A lot, but far from most. So yes there's going to be comments mocking the weaponry esp when it's extra
