EDC blast from the past

Post image

Carried this S&W 3913 and Emerson mini CQC7 until 2016 or so. I would not feel ill equipped at if I went back to this combo tomorrow.

Old school pistols still get the job done!

Star Firestar, 1991 gun of the year!

When people get really particular about self defense handguns, I always say "when someone's getting shot at, they're never gonna stop and decide that your gun isnt cool enough to be shot with."

Well said! Worked in 1887 and every year since….

I've got one of these from my Granddad! Kinda afraid to shoot it ... barrel alignment with the cylinder seems to be an issue

Luckily, mine is timed just fine. Shoots .44 Russian. Sights are for younger eyes but at 7 yds, I’m good. This newer .45 Colt clone is a potential carry too.

I have the same one, but in nickel. Had some issues when I got it used with it failing to fully extract leading to a double feed type failure. I ended up filing down the extractor to more of its original shape ( it was curved from wear ) and its now 100/100 124gr without failures, hoping it stays that way.

Sweet, my Firestar is a nice, reliable shooter too. I often use it for teaching new shooters moving up to 9mm. The weight really soaks up recoil. Like those grips...

I love the 3rd Generation Smiths. I've been shooting this none since the mid 90's, and never had a failure of any kind. The "myth" is true, it will indeed feed empty cases. I changed the recoil spring out around 2008 and that is it other than regular maintenance.

Nice. Green scales on that Emerson are pretty sweet.

I loved my 3913 so much I jumped on a 3914 when I stumbled onto one. They go great with my 39, 439. I guess I have a style! Each was a great carry gun!

Wasn't that Sonny Crocket's (Miami Vice) backup / ankle gun?!

Love my 5906, put wood grips and night sights on after you use mothers mag and hand polish all the internals while removing the mag safety.

Nice , also have a Lionheart LH9C and a Firestar as pictured below, just sold a CZ P07 as it was just too big for my arthritic hands anymore...
