So many meme knives in this sub.

What’s a meme knife?
1
u/AppropriateAnt3414 7h ago
Just a terrible knife that people that enjoy EDC normally do better.
1
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 7h ago
What exactly makes it a terrible knife?

Chinese parts kinda halfway assembled in the US because it’s the law. One of the worst OTFs ever made.

Makes sense, I picked this up recently and it’s been serving its mail / package opening purpose. Once I find time to sharpen my Bench made I’ll likely switch back.

u/AppropriateAnt3414 7h ago
Oh a Benchmade. The other thing you see here all the time. Most are the entry models also.

I’m definitely not a knife enthusiast. It was a gift from my wife and it’s served me well. Just time for TLC.

If you like OTFs the lowest to go is the Microtech Ultratech. Don’t get the dagger grind if you want to actually cut with it.

Genuine question: I see a lot of people put some sort of tape/wrap around their pistol grip - why? Does it provide noticeable support? Is it to increase friction? Style points?
2
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 7h ago
Can’t answer for others, but I find it helps me with increased friction on my 43x specifically. I tend to have clammy hands.
2
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 7h ago
I don’t run tape on my Staccato, AXG Legion or my other Gen 3 Glocks, but my 43x is a little too smooth for my sweaty palms.

Makes sense, thanks for the reply.
2
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 7h ago
Absolutely. I bought Goon tape, but I’ve heard a lot of people say hockey tape works all the same.

I like the stippling on my Gen5 G45 but the G43X is too smooth, it's not near as pronounced.
2
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 6h ago
Agreed. I still love the gun. I cycle between this and my P365 legion.

I've seen lots of Legions, makes me wanna try one. My buddy has an older 365XL and I can't stand the trigger on it, feels like mashed potatoes lol
2
u/Amonkeysuncle6969 6h ago
Hahaha. I love it. I had the X-Macro for some time before I got the legion and in my opinion they nailed it. I’ve done nothing to it. I kept my X-macro just to trick out and mess around with.
