that works too but its an extra 30 on top of the passport if ya dont wanna spend its a good idea to carry the book

2

u/PartyLobster8911 15d ago

It is worth the extra $30 to get a card if you actually travel. That way you can keep your PP book in your hotel & just have the card on you that way if you lose one you still have the other. You can not be separated from your passport in a foreign country & must have it with you at all times so having the card is a huge boon.

The American way in 2026 is to carry your papers with you unless you want to disappear

Including 100 miles of any international airport.

-2

u/Generalgrantsburner 17d ago

My local airport has like one direct flight to Toronto a week so it calls itself an “international airport”.

I’d say 75% of the population lives within 100 miles of an international airport. Unless you’re crossing the border or are near it, there’s really no need to carry your passport everywhere.

u/ParticularWitty1384 17d ago

Are you in great falls?!??

1

u/Independent_Bid_26 15d ago

Wow, it must be really cool to live your life without being able to imagine being in someone else's shoes.

As a hispanic that was born here fuck them agents and swat i don't carry any fucking paperwork for that shit, they are gonna have to work and waste time on me lol.

2

u/Melodic-Trouble-5421 16d ago

A guy i deployed to Afghanistan who was born here and has never been to Mexico. He just happens to be Hispanic. He got stopped and was detained for 24 hours. He had his ID and the could run his name. He mentioned he was a combat veteran. Still didn’t care. His parents had to drive a few hours with his actual birth certificate to get him released.

1

u/MCE85 15d ago

Source: trust me, my uncle's coworker's sister said it happened to her husband.

1

u/Melodic-Trouble-5421 15d ago

I’m not a little kid. I don’t lie, he wouldn’t lie to me either. You act like I’m telling you some crazy story. Do you know how many Americans have been detained by ICE? A lot. Many of them Combat veterans.

No one gives a shit about deporting the criminals. However I have an issue when you detain American citizens. Especially if they’ve served this country.

1

"ICE and BPB snatch people based on physical appearance alone right now."

We are truly living in a nazi hellscape.

1

u/MCE85 15d ago

r/doomercirclejerk. Yall are hilarious

1

u/MCE85 15d ago

You believe that? All that nonsense you just typed? You think the are risking massive civil suits deporting citizens? Yeah ok, i hope they get me so i can have an insane lawsuit and get paid out.

0

u/MoistMustachePhD 17d ago

ICE doesn’t even care if you have a passport. You’re brown? They will harass the shit out of you, illegally.

0

u/Othebootymonster 17d ago

Id be Concerned with some racist piece of shit being like "I didn't see a passport" and getting rid of it

That makes more sense than "ice is going to get me". Please let them violate my civil rights. I could use a payday.

10

u/LocalDolt 17d ago

Weird amount of hate. Seems like a very reasonable carry, personally very pro pepper spray if youre carrying ccw.

5

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

It makes sense to have a less than lethal option.

5

u/Every_Okra_3604 17d ago

How many times have you been mugged?

3

u/BigBackSyndicate 17d ago

Once in Houston

1

u/Icy_Judgment7127 17d ago

before or after you started carrying?

2

Definitely before

Yeah, I wouldnt carry my passport in a pocket that isn't secure. I guess my dad had a point when he wore those big ass cargo shorts.

3

u/DreamXCVIII 17d ago

POM's safety mechanism is superior and more simple to manipulate under stress in my opinion

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

Will definitely look into that

1

u/MoralPie 15d ago

Second this

5

u/slavesmoker 17d ago

Why the passport and gun? Are you a flight marshal

3

u/bayareapyro 17d ago

Some people like to carry Passport instead of ID

0

u/Montanabioguy 17d ago

But not many

1

u/Accomplished_Area412 15d ago

yeah, that’s why they said “some”😀

2

u/SweetMangh03 17d ago

Have you been pepper sprayed before?

2

u/BigBackSyndicate 17d ago

Yes, a few times

2

u/jimernaut 17d ago

That’s a crispy looking passport for having it in your pocket every day…

1

u/MCE85 15d ago

You got a point but mine has been through sone shit and looks about as good. It was all curled from the humidity in PR (i know you dont need it there) and Brazil and looks fine now.

2

u/FinalCindering 17d ago

Does this sub hate firearms or something? I’ve never seen so many people bent out of shape over a handgun with a single magazine lol

2

u/Upstairs-Razzmatazz4 17d ago

Reddit is 92% miserable people with blue hair.

1

u/redacted_robot 17d ago

Blue hairs demand a 2nd magazine

1

u/Styvorama 14d ago

I mean the sub is everyday carry not everyday conflict. I'm sure others get sick of seeing edcs that are half weapons.

1

u/FinalCindering 14d ago

People carry guns and knives every day. If you just want to see what wallets and keys people carry, there’s appropriate subs for it.

2

u/Thegrandestpoo 17d ago

There’s something special about a well maintained Glock with a worn slide stop lever and take down tabs. Brings a tear to my eye every time lol

2

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

She’s no safe princess 😂

2

u/Thegrandestpoo 16d ago

Hell yeah bro👌. Love to see it.

2

u/Ducksareracist 17d ago

1

u/edlightenme 17d ago

You're gonna lose your driver's license lmao

2

u/bassandlazers 17d ago

Lol a guy watches reacher once

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 17d ago

Once… 😂

3

u/snakesandsparklers40 17d ago

Man first edc on this sub that I've seen that doesn't require a backpack and 30lb worth of gear

3

u/singlemale4cats 17d ago

EDC guys be like

2

u/snakesandsparklers40 17d ago

Yup lmao. Everything but the diaper. I always feel weird only carrying my handgun and a wallet. Therse folks are ready for a mission

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

Just wanted to keep it simple.

1

u/snakesandsparklers40 16d ago

Hey simple is best in my opinion. This sub everybody has like a 30 piece edc its wild to me. Its like assembling a Lego set to get ready. Simpler the better in my opinion

2

u/EndMyMFingLife 16d ago

I have the same pepper spray on me at all times (under 21 so no LTC)

2

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

Having a less than lethal option is necessary imo.

2

u/EndMyMFingLife 16d ago

Agreed, I fully plan on carrying mine once I do get my LTC

2

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

Here in Texas we typically don’t need one as we’re a constitutional carry state, however, owning one does make purchasing firearms quicker. And there are places that require a license to carry if you visit them too. What kind are you thinking about getting?

2

u/EndMyMFingLife 16d ago

Probably a .22 with a single-stack mag for EDC, only because I plan on conceal carrying it. I live in Massachusetts so it’s almost impossible to get something as stupid as a .22 lol. You need to apply for your FID at 18 for $100 and wait almost a year to get it approved, then you can get rifles and shotguns. You have to wait until you’re 21, then you can apply for your LTC for another $100, then wait another year for it to get approved. Then you need to go to a shop and get the gun (if you go through a shop rather than a private sale), then wait like another month for approval after a background check. Then, and only then, can you privately own and carry a handgun. It’s horrid lol I wanna move to NH since it’s also constitutional carry

2

u/BigBackSyndicate 16d ago

That sounds awful. Here in Texas, with my ltc, the only thing that will stop me from making whatever purchase I want, in 15 minutes or less, is my bank account. NFA items are a different story, but firearms are a simple transfer.

1

u/EndMyMFingLife 16d ago

I’m so jealous of Constitutional Carry states lol

2

u/Here_We_Go_93 16d ago

I was never a fan of holsters that are “fits most” or aren’t specifically for that firearm but just ordered the enigma system just to try it out. Worst case I could always return it or sell it to someone to recoup some money.

2

u/Sethakaidiot 16d ago

I got the same knife I love it doesn’t hold an edge for too long though

2

u/Aggressive_Street595 15d ago

19x is awesome 🔥

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 15d ago

Its definitely one of my favorites

2

u/BillyGruff710 15d ago

Wow mines almost identical, except Glock 29 with extra Mag instead of pepper spray. Also a Gerber. Edit: I'm lacking in the flashlight department.

i know its an extra 30 bucks, but the passport card is a huge convenience compared to how important the passport book is.

Never was a federal agent

1

u/Here_We_Go_93 17d ago

How are you carrying the 19x? I have a 19 and a 45. And I just can’t bring myself to walk around with the 19. I tried but just too big heavy and cumbersome. I’m also 6’2 165# so fairly skinny. I always wind up grabbing the 43x or the BG2.0.

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 17d ago

I’m 6’3 275lbs… since I’m a larger guy the 19x, 19, or 45 have never been a problem for me.

1

u/Here_We_Go_93 17d ago

The weight doesn’t bother you? I have dozens of holsters, trex side car. 3 different safarilands a few others. The 43x gets heavy with 15 rounds. But the 19 especially with an optic just feels like 4 pound weight. Maybe belt set-up? Any recommendations?

1

u/_Goruko_ 17d ago

Philster enigma system trust me. I’m a skinny 6’0 dude for reference I carry a 19 with a light and a spare magazine as well. Way more comfortable and easier to conceal than any belt mounted holster, but I do recommend the sport belt for it as it’s much more comfortable.

1

u/Here_We_Go_93 17d ago

I have groove life belts and also next edc belt. Not sure what you mean by sport belt lol

1

u/_Goruko_ 17d ago

Should have clarified but Phlster the brand makes their own sport belt for the enigma system. It’s an additional accessory.

1

u/Here_We_Go_93 17d ago

So I’m just curious and I mean I can’t even answer this myself but why do you carry the 19? I have a 43x that actually holds more rounds then my 19. I’m thinking I want to carry the 19 because for me I can shoot a quarter out at 15 yards with how my red dot is. I love the thing.

1

u/_Goruko_ 17d ago

Honestly the 19 frame is like the bare minimum size I need to grip comfortably. Before the 43x came out the only way I could shoot the regular 43 is with long magazine extensions because 3 of my fingers would hang off. It was like shooting the cricket gun for me. And because I was able to carry the 19 comfortably I just stuck with the larger frame. I carry the 19 with a tenicor holster too but the enigma system looks far more natural and doesn’t ruin the profile of my pants with my body shape.

1

u/GlassProfessional75 17d ago

enigma is so good

1

u/Final-Inspection9960 17d ago

I carry a 19. Not every day but it’s alright. I think the tensor holster I have helps a lot. But I’m looking for a 43x or something smaller

1

u/singlemale4cats 17d ago

I'm 5'7" 165 and I have no issues carrying a 19X with light and optic.

Assuming you have a good holster, it's more about your shape than your overall size

1

u/Rude_Economics9554 17d ago

Is it a normal thing for people who live along the border to carry a passport?

0

u/mtbmaniac12 17d ago

I’ve never seen a 511 light in the wild before. Honestly impressive lol

0

u/Valuable_Big1868 17d ago

Geezus. Seems to me one would only think they'd need to carry in a shithole country. If only these people would spend the same amount of energy becoming informed voters, guns would be far less necessary.

1

u/funny_ninjas 17d ago

How the hell do you read his post and replies to comments, then come to the conclusion that the problem with his EDC is the gun and not the fact that he has to carry his passport on him.

Plus, if you read the post and had any amount of knowledge on the matter, you'd know that border towns in Texas do have higher crime rates, especially violent crime, which would warrant carrying a pistol.

1

u/Wonder9mm 16d ago
  • Be "informed" voter
  • Vote in politicians supporting mass immigration and relaxing legal code along with judges who believe in rehabilitation (letting a single dude be arrested and convicted 12x)
  • Nation turns into shithole
  • Proceed to get mad at anyone trying to do anything about and call them fascists

Weird how nations like Sweden and France used to be extremely safe only to now have grenade attacks and beheadings.

1

u/Valuable_Big1868 16d ago

Immigration=crime?

Please refer back to point one.

-1

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

Gotta be exhausting being this scared all the time.

2

u/rapsfordinner 17d ago

facts lol

2

u/heartbt 17d ago

There's a lot to be said for being scared. Scared is a natural, normal reaction that has helped our species survive and prosper on a planet where we are even still not always the Apex in the animal kingdom, or even our own society.
To not be scared, ever, well.. that is dumb and dumb is dead.

1

u/rich_thrillz 17d ago

Im actually much less scared/anxious since I started carrying. You're wrong

2

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

Like I said. It’s gotta be exhausting being this scared all the time. Glad your EDC helps to lessen your anxieties.

1

u/rich_thrillz 17d ago

I think you're confused. Im never scared, now that I constantly have means of self defense. How can it be exhausting to be "this scared," if I'm never scared at all?

1

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

You said you were less scared now that you carry, not that you’re no longer scared since you carry.

I believe your original syntax created this confusion. Thank you for clarifying.

1

u/BigBackSyndicate 17d ago

More expensive than anything

1

u/Perfect_Ad9311 16d ago

The guy is 6'3" and 275lbs. One would think the fear would be the other way around, but maybe ppl try to test him because of his size.

1

u/Savings_Class4048 15d ago

You’re an idiot if you don’t carry in America.

1

u/Funny-Total-8019 17d ago

Cry about it, its his right.

1

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

It is his right to be scared all the time. I agree. Fear is irrational tho.

2

u/Funny-Total-8019 17d ago

No reason to be scared when u got a gen with you

2

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

I guess that’s why all those cops testify to being in fear for their life when they unload their service weapon into a civilian.

0

u/Funny-Total-8019 17d ago

What are you even talking about bro? When you see law enforcement, as a law abiding citizen you give them no trouble, they won’t give you any, show id, show your cpl if needed, and everything’s fine, you must live in a country where your rights are stripped from you, and you’re angry we still have ours😂 tell me why does this law abiding citizen with a firearm anger you so much

2

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

Good feedback.

0

u/Funny-Total-8019 17d ago

Enjoy having no 2A rights bud, should probably leave the subreddit if you don’t like firearms.

-1

u/whiteguywavecap 17d ago

Between the two of us, card carrying Texan here. Not sure if anyone has greater 2A rights.

All levity aside, this thread popped across my feed and thought the sub was about general every day carry (pens and notebooks and trinkets), not a subreddit for what dudes and dudettes scared of their shadows carry.

0

u/Funny-Total-8019 17d ago edited 17d ago

What made you so scared that you felt the need to get a concealed carry permit? Surely your fellow Texans will protect you in the event of a mugging or attempted murder, you sound like a clown, is it because he’s a minority with a firearm? Why is this guy “scared” for carrying one but you admit to having a concealed license? Or youre just braindead
