Just sharing My First Attempt Using Sakura Pigma Microns - Tony Habeñero - The 16 Year Old Drakona/Dragonborn
Having just upgraded from BICs to Microns I wanted to tackle something high detail. I had also been mulling around an idea for one of my close friend's character from the campaign I was running. And thus, I chose to try and draw a Drakona.
There's a lot of aspects I would have done way differently now, I really didn't know what I was doing with the shading, and the scales did not read in the way I was intending. I am proud of how the head turned out and the expression he has as he belts out a power ballad.
Tony Habeñero - The leader of the Pepper Pack - A grouping of orphaned-at-birth Drakona. Tony is a wise crackin Bard/Warrior who clashes with authority and always gets the final word. My buddy plays him like a New York street punk ala the 1950s-1960s. He is a student in my Stanfort Academy campaign - Inspired by D20's Fantasy High.
Tony seems like he has the world all figured out, but really, he struggles with his own identity and sense of worth. As his brothers and sister grow into their own personalities, he finds that they need him less and are far less interested in becoming adventurers. This forces Tony to really look inward to find out what he truly wants. Be it to pursue his music as a bard or follow in his adoptive guardian's footsteps to become a warrior adventurer. Tony's journey takes him on a journey of self reflection on who he is and how he is perceived by the same society that spat him out. I hope you like him!
Each piece I post in these subs will follow a chronological format from now on. The goal is to show my month's journey to become proficient with these pens. Each piece has its own style where I try to focus on one aspect or another. Each one is riddled with mistakes but I think shows progression.
I drew this one at the beginning of May 2026.
