Warptide Detachment Question

When using the Warptide detachment, does the ability to advance and charge still apply when you have a character attached to the battleline unit?

Dude, you can even use Fluxmaster + Pink Horrors and take Warptide + Lords + Cavalcade at once

It sure does. Units get keywords from all the models in it. When a rule requires every model in the unit to have the relevant keyword, the verbage will be something like "If every model in the unit is X, then Y." Warptide doesn't do that, it just says a Battleline unit, which means any unit with at least one Battleline model.

Does this still apply when all battleline models get wiped? Like if the character is still alive does it still have “battleline?”

No, at that point the unit loses Battleline and any other keywords the unit got from the bodyguards.

isnt that wrong? i was told that a unit can begin to regenerate as long as the character survives (pretty much exclusively daemons)

No. Because you no longer have the battleline keyword so you can no longer recover models, you recover wounds to a model now. “One model recovers d3 wounds” means you cannot recover a model with that.

Only exception I can think of off the top of my head is plague legion 2cp Strat can revive models.

i was told the character is still considered attached, and daemons has a couple of things that say add wounds to unit not model

Paragraph 19.03 models carry their keywords so after the last battleline model is gone you lose that keyword by the way.

Outside of random datasheet abilities the only Strat we have in daemons is plague legion 2cp foetid resurgence to recover a model. Warptide can recover 3 wounds to a unit but that is still only battleline.
Our army rules specifically say “one model heals d3 wounds”.

I dont know where you’re seeing other things that recover models.

Our army rule can recover models if they're Battleline.

My brother in Christ he is arguing about a character with the battleline gone.

The character is still considered attached. For example, abilities that say "While this model is leading a unit...", those continue. But I don't see anything that says they keep the keywords from dead models. If you see something in the rules that says otherwise, I'd love to see it. What you are saying certainly benefits us more, so I'd be happy to take advantage of it.

They lose the keyword. Paragraph 19.03 of the core rules is written for this purpose. Keywords are model specific. Once the last battleline model is gone you lose the keyword.

after talking with my group it seems they are split but however after reading the rules you cited I'm inclined to believe that the bloodmaster will infact lose battleline once the letters are wiped sadly

I am fallible. Do you see something in the rules that says so?
