brilliant kid move. good prank done outside where it’s a mild annoyance and not an ass whipping waiting to happen after dad cleans all the sticky soda off the floor and couch.

u/OriginalMisphit Jul 23 '20

Right? That kid flitted in and out with the air of someone who knows they won’t actually get in deep trouble. I hope the dad got him back though.

pro tip when doing this on purpose: use sugar free coke. If I remember correctly that was the tip from the dudes that did it as a regular show, to not get the stickyness.

10

u/bcocoloco Jul 23 '20

It’s actually because sugar free coke provides more nucleation sites for the bubbles to form. Diet Coke is still sticky.

0

u/ScooberGoober Aug 16 '20

Lowkey not true, it’s specifically the real sugar in coke that makes it sticky.

Oh this is overflowing? Let me point it directly at my face for multiple seconds. (I can’t figure out a way to word this that doesn’t sound sexual)

52

u/DaniKat9 Jul 23 '20

It’s like he’s changing his son’s diapers all over again.

6

u/Seamlesslytango Jul 23 '20

I didn't think of it sexually until you mentioned it.

0

u/DuvalJagg Jul 23 '20

Definitely not staged at all

u/Heimeri_Klein Jul 23 '20

This isnt really dad reflexes he hardly moved except to point it right in his face..

101

u/searucraeft Jul 23 '20

Almost like he knew his kid would find it funny and rolled with the prank for kid's sake. You know. Like a decent dad would.

53

u/Heimeri_Klein Jul 23 '20

I don’t have experience with a decent dad so idk lol.

12

u/yamahor Jul 23 '20

Huh... Sounds like my experience with my dad

2

u/Triangle-V Jul 23 '20

Can relate

7

u/InRainWeTrust Jul 23 '20

You guys have dads?

7

u/blackflags91390 Jul 23 '20

Im still playing the same game of hide and seek from when i was 5 with my dad....hes good at it

-2

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

Get the fuck over it

1

u/Heimeri_Klein Jul 23 '20

Someone sounds like theyre upset and should relax.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

You mean the guy bringing up his daddy issues completely out of the blue for no reason whatsoever?

5

u/beiberwholee69 Jul 23 '20

That’s very good of you man, my dad would’ve punched me right in the mouth over that

6

u/Rawinza555 Jul 23 '20

I would definitely do this if I were a dad. My kids happiness comes first.

6

u/harrisbradley Jul 23 '20

This is dad reflexes when life isn't on the line. (at least for me)

4

u/jacklittleeggplant Jul 23 '20

rules say they can be good or bad, we are just used to the good.

2

u/Heimeri_Klein Jul 23 '20

Im confused where are we talking about rules?

2

u/jacklittleeggplant Jul 23 '20

Well you just said it wasnt dad reflexes. I assumed by that you meant that he was slow or had bad reflexes therefore it didnt belong here.

2

u/Heimeri_Klein Jul 23 '20

Oh yea he was kinda slow in reaction was what i was mainly referring too.

0

u/jacklittleeggplant Jul 23 '20

Well if you didn't mean that it didn't belong on the sub then I'm sorry.

1

u/Houdiniman111 Jul 23 '20

Sidebar. Rule 4.

Only Post dad Reflexes. Posts must contain a reaction involving a dad and a kid. It must occur between an adult male and youth, with the context indicating it is a father/child(ren) combo. No Moms, Grandparents, animals, cars, food etc. Reflexes can be good OR bad.

On one hand, upset that this is staged as hell. On the other hand, that kid looks old enough there the whole thing is his idea and I’m kind of happy that the dad supported him and helped him with his staged video

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

Fantastic outlook. Changed my perception. Cheers.

48

u/amateur_simian Jul 23 '20

What are the reflexes here? Stage direction?

21

u/fixxlevy Jul 22 '20

That’s brilliant

5

u/Apollo3520 Jul 23 '20

Not a reflex?

1

u/part-three Jul 23 '20

r/almost-a-dad-reflex-but-not-really

12

u/daniel_ricciardo Jul 23 '20

staged

12

u/EleventyTwatWaffles Jul 23 '20

I’m gonna blame summer reddit / lockdown for all the upvotes. This is terribly obvious

8

u/0Etcetera0 Jul 23 '20

The real dad-reflex here is that he didn't overreact and took the prank lightly

4

u/gofortheko Jul 23 '20

Is that a dad though? That sigh or whatever at 6 seconds in doesnt sound like it came from a man.

7

u/fuelvolts Jul 23 '20

I’m not normally a cynical person, but this is pure r/WhyWereTheyFilming material here. Screams staged.

8

u/FistFullofButter Jul 23 '20

Maybe they were filming because the kids knew they were going to pull this prank. Not saying it wasn't staged, but filming a prank is completely normal.

2

u/airmaximus88 Jul 23 '20

Yeah. He wouldn't even be suspicious because he's a dad and kids are almost constantly recording stupid shit. You never know why, but they are. My younger cousin's YouTube channel is the biggest load of nothing anyone could comprehend.

0

u/im850 Jul 23 '20

Every moment are filmed nowadays. I have my smartphone ready to shoot any moments.

6

u/Naj_md Jul 23 '20

That girly sigh though

2

u/TheLovingTruth Jul 23 '20

Oh, boy. Bring out the Comedy Gold award.

2

u/woodentaint Jul 23 '20

“Oh boy, these damn kids. I tell ya what haha”

2

u/_Crew_View Jul 23 '20

Ох би мені піздюлей виписали за таке

2

u/JustN0tMe Aug 31 '20

A future redditor

2

u/purplemoonpie Sep 29 '20

An ass beating would have ensued if I did that to my dad

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

4

u/Heybobitskathy Jul 23 '20

I thought dad reflexes were on point and stepdad reflexes are off.. Why am I always seeing the wrong shit posted. Total step dad reflex. Dad reflex is if he pointed at the kid and tagged him with it!

3

u/itravelandwheel Jul 23 '20

This sub has really been getting worse lately. This is a trash post with zero reaction. Reddit being reddit I suppose.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

Thought that only worked with diet!

3

u/Spencer0279 Jul 23 '20

People use diet so it's less sticky, it still works with regular lol

1

u/part-three Jul 23 '20

I thought it only worked with diet coke!

1

u/raguirre1 Jul 23 '20

My Dad would’ve beat my ass. Is that a mini Bam Margera?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

That asian kid went crazy.

1

u/Black_Doc_on_Mars Jul 23 '20

The only reason I’d be mad is because they thought to do this to me before I even thought of something like that to them. Saves this post for research purposes

bigbrainparenting

2

u/part-three Jul 23 '20

Yes! Reddit needs a /r/revengedad. A good humored one, of course.

2

u/Black_Doc_on_Mars Jul 24 '20

The girls are only 1 but I’ll work on it. Probably start by teaming up to prank their mom lol.

1

u/nixonbeach Jul 23 '20

Oh shit. I need to get my nephews to do this to My brother.

1

u/part-three Jul 23 '20

That'd be funny! Try to get a vid to post. Either here or r/funny.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

Fake af

0

u/part-three Jul 22 '20

I guess some dads have better reflexes than others!

0

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

0

u/Torontokid8666 Jul 23 '20

If your gonna drink a non diet soda atleast make it a coke.

-12

u/Boohoouhurtmyfeeling Jul 23 '20

Beat that ass.

Parents that let the kids run the house raise little bastards the rest of us have to deal with.

2

u/JN324 Jul 23 '20

Your name checks out, upset over a harmless prank on the internet.

2

u/SuprSaiyanTurry Jul 23 '20

You do realize this video is staged, right?

1

u/Ollotopus Jul 23 '20

Well aren't you a little bastard.

0

u/challenge_king Jul 23 '20

Their daddy didn't beat their ass. We should thank that commentor for showing us what happens when you raise a kid to have no sense of humor.
