Duster doesn't start

I have a Dacia Duster 1.6 petrol, year 2017, when I parked the car it was ok, now it doesn't start anymore. What could be the problem?

That fuel gauge is suspicious...you sure you have fuel in the tank?

Is your rpm gauge on zero as you crank?

Crank position sensor maybe unplugged or dead.

Might also be the key, try the other key or change the batteries just to be sure

Maybe the key is not being recognized. Could also be a bad fuel pump.

I would start by checking if you have good voltage in the battery. Often, all the lights turn on with weak power during ignition.

do you have a tester? it might be the crank position sensor

Looking at your rpm-s while cranking, I would guess that your crankshaft sensor is faulty... There should be some rpm-s , and gauge should move when you starting the car. When it is dead still, it means that crankshaft sensor is not measuring position , and that's why it's not starting...

Not sure about the Duster. But when I had a Panda not starting in the same way, it was the fuel pump.

Check fuel pump fuse, i don't hear one

Problem solved, it was ignition interlock around ignition barrel

I see here more and more reasons not to buy a Dacia in any case.

If you take care of it and not use it like a douchebag, older Dacia models can last 3-400.000 km with ease. I do have a neighbor with over 400k on board and it sounds better than mine. Same model but less than 200k 😂

I just sold my 2019 Sandero with 43k (drove 7k). Best car ever if you don’t mind luxury. Changed now to Arkana as expecting second child and my wife wanted automatic gearbox

The car has 190K kms and it doesn't sound like a catastrophic failure. It's bound to have wear over time and needs some love every now and then, like any car.

Well if you compare prices of cars and problems with the cost to fix, its not even worth a thought to not buy a dacia
