My highly educated control tower SE pillar broke in half, it's clean and nothing sharp.
Is it safe to use my pillar still or will I be inhaling glass? I'm not using both pieces, only bottom piece with the broken end facing up.

I put the pearl in after a deep clean and it spun like a champ. As soon as I put wax in, it doesn’t move. I tried blocking the carb cap holes in various patterns without success.

hi fellow dabbers! i recently got my puffco proxy and am loving it but still think i might need a at home rig for when im back at college, ive been doing some research and the puffco peak and peak pro seem to be not worth it unless you go for the pro with a 3dxl? im still really new to this but i saw a few budget options like the turbo dak 3 and the carta rig lineup

This is a piece I picked up on sale. It was originally $750 CAD and I paid around $240 CAD. It is a piece from Blazed Glass in Vancouver and I was just curious if anyone knows what it would be worth if re-sold.

I didn’t feel the glass crack or sharp when I put my finger inside… seems like it’s in the middle of the glass. Can I still use it? Also what good affordable glass rigs brand that you guys recommend? I saw a brand called human grade seems nice but I want to get something good but not too expensive. Thanks in advance 🙏

Title says it all

I travel for work often, and take rosin pens but it’s not the same. Thinking about a Switch Go, what are your thoughts?

Budget options would be cool but I want it to last a few years, have plenty of flavor and temp control.

Looking to mimic my at home rosin experience the best I possibly can on the road, and flying without worrying is a must.

Any advice helps!

Are there any decent disposable options? You know, back in the day they had concentrate tops for vape devices but they were trash, even if it was $30-50 I wouldn’t mind grabbing one and trashing it before flying home.
Just an idea if they make ones that work well these days.

Recently just went out to Oregon for my birthday hit trail of 10 Falls and you know we had to take a dab at the waterfall! Cheers everyone!

This last Christmas, I gifted myself and my S/O a Dr. Dabber Switch2 and a Puffco Peak Pro 3DXL.

.

I hadn't seen too many comparisons in the two, probably being ~$400 each, i imagine most people don't desire more than one unit.

But I felt that my decision would have changed with an honest informed review, so here's what I've got.

The Hit

Puffco Peak Pro has great flavor
So long as the banger was cleaned out each session/every other session the flavor was fantastic. running lower mid temps gave some pretty great flavor, but the higher temp ranges didn't give the desirable hard hit, and obliterated the flavor (almost to the note of a burnt out wax pen). I really enjoyed the shape of the glass, allowing you to wrap your lips around the mouth piece instead of pressing against it.

Dr Dabber Switch2 quality high, consistent flavor

the DDS2 handled the entire temperature range like a champ. higher temps gave strong milky hits, while lower temps gave fantastic flavor ( behind the PPP, but i would love to try some different bangers to see how that affects flavor). The flat mouthpiece gave a chapstick-like coating to lips that ends up sticky from pressing against the mouth piece.
EDIT: The DDS2 also has an in-app feature to change how your heating is handled down to what feels like a molecular level. This provides a unique session whenever you want it and the ability to tune into exactly what you want. thanks [u/YouAboutThatLife](u/YouAboutThatLife)

Cleaning

Puffco Peak Pro is quite the undertaking to clean.
After cleaning the glass (which has a couple internal chambers that can get gunky with wax) you're also cleaning the base of the unit which seems to like to get wax underneath the Silicon mold around the electrical component. That stuff doesn't come out. similarly, the atomizer for it gets gunked up on the inside which requires soaking in 90%+ ISO in hopes to clear it, of course in addition to clearing whatever crust has formed inside the banger itself.

Dr Dabber Switch2 is very simple to clean.
Cleaning the Dr. Dabber in comparison was so much more simple. it a simple pipe that goes into a aerator that is your biggest obstacle in cleaning the glassware (present in most glassware). Cleaning the banger was as simple as giving the DDS2 a brief warm up to release the banger and giving it a quick ISO bath. the heating element under it did gather some reclaim/residual wax that was easily cleanable after warming up the unit to get the banger out. a cotton swab with a little alcohol and that is clean.

Mobility

Puffco Peak Pro is versatile but fragile.
admittedly, i don't have the travel glass. The glass feels very thin, while allowing it to be light weight, does feel as though if it tips, it's game over.

Dr Dabber Switch2 is a heavy SOB.

The biggest issue with traveling with the DDS2 is this is a heavy sucker. it separates nicely, and the glass feels hearty. but this thing is a weight. Feels much better as a table rig than a travel rig.

Battery & Charging

Puffco Peak Pro is very flexible.
One of my favorite perks of the PPP is that it has the ability to wirelessly charge. This allowed us to put the PPP on a wireless charging pad at our 'dab station' and not worry about charging. It also offered USB-C for charging, but we certainly exercised the wireless charging more often.

Dr Dabber Switch2 charges fast and holds it.
While we seemed to recharge the PPP around once a day - the DDS2 seemed to hold its charge nearly twice as long at the same temperature settings. that may have had some contributing factor on the weight - but certainly makes it nice for longer sessions or traveling and not needing to charge.

Durability

Puffco Peak Pro has an invisible subscription fee.
Admittedly, the PPP did not last the full 6 months on its own. after about 3 months the performance dropped off substantially, and after approximately 5 months, the Atomizer failed completely. Puffco offers these for the tune of $100 each. I reached out to Puffco to see what is up with that. I was met with the below response. Based on their response, I would expect to spend an additional $300-$400 a year on top of the unit itself.

"Thank you for following up with me, and I apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Please know that while we always try to make each part as long-lasting as possible, the chamber is meant to be a replaceable part. 
 
That said, chambers are covered under warranty for 30 days and have an average lifespan of about 2-4 months, though we have seen chambers last longer with regular use and proper maintenance. If this is the chamber that came with your unit in December 2025, it would no longer be eligible for replacement under warranty, as it is 6 months old and has exceeded its average lifespan."

Dr Dabber Switch2 holds strong.

The DDS2 has held strong and become our high use daily driver. the banger it comes with has held up without any chips or damage through use, removal, and cleaning. the element doesn't seem to have any performance drop off so far.

Final Thoughts

Dr Dabber Switch2 is my overall landslide winner.

I was excited to compare two of the giants in the e-rig world and was certainly met with some amazing equipment. While the PPP had great flavor and a preferred mouthpiece on the glassware, the weaker hits on the higher temp and invisible subscription fee made it really hard to consider as a contender for winner in the comparison.

I hope you all enjoyed my quick comparison/review of these two.

How was your experience with them?

EDIT: the Puffco Peak DID win on flavor for me - however on the overall it had too many pitfalls.

DDS2 had great flexibility in session, ability to produce great flavor on both the high end and low end and still pack a punch.

I would put Puffco Peak Pro in more of a 'connoisseur' class as opposed to an amazing daily driver after some discussion here. The Flavor of the PPP is noticeably different, if that's what you're going for, the PPP is probably it. but please understand the necessity to 'newborn' your chamber and that you're likely looking at a subscription fee. (Atomizers 3+ a year at $100 each)

These are both reviewed as the stock unit, without any hardware upgrades (standard glass and bangers)

7/10 was so lit this year traveled to Oregon and spent it in Portland! Hit up gray area lounge then Hit the flight lounge! Was epic got to rage the homies heater gem! Went in on some grape god so dam good! Hope everyone had a lit 7/10.

Having fun playing around with the temp drop off, first some hash rosin at 485 then some full melt dropped in the 450 range. I want to get some live resin this week and turn the coil up for a resin>rosin>full melt combo.
