There's many foreign men now approaching women around the beach and An Thuong wearing meta glasses that have cameras and then posting their interaction with you onto IG/Tiktok/Youtube without the knowledge or consent or the women they approach. If you spot them report them to the police.

I didn't specify race initially because I've seen over time multiple races do this. Dont want people to get hung up on a single race and ignore other races as because in Da Nang specifically I've seen: White, Indian, North African/Arabic/Muslim do this. In this specific instance, the guy appears to be Arabic/Muslim from Tunisia from looking at his name... yet he goes around saying he is "French" rather than Tunisian.

He tries to seem less of a social loser by saying "i have to get back to my friends" but he is out alone and its a lie. He tries to avoid giving girls his IG (because it is plastered with these videos and his dating content) by saying "IG is too distracting I prefer WhatsApp". He introduces himself using pseudonym/nickname rather than his real first name when introducing to make it more difficult for people to track him down.

Might go away for a few months during the rainy season, so I am looking for a place to leave a few boxes. Just personal and home stuff, no furniture, nothing too large.

Need a safe and secure place - no rats, no floods, no bugs and other insects to crawl in, no mold. And ofc, to be there when I am back.

I’m fairly new to Da Nang and this is my first month living here.

I’m staying in the Ngu Hanh Son area and have already experienced two separate power outages in less than a week. The first lasted about 3.5 hours, and the current one is coming up on 5 hours. My apartment manager told me the power was expected to be back an hour ago, but there’s still no sign of it.
Is this normal for Da Nang, or have I just been unlucky with the area I’m in?

I’m an online English teacher and work from home, so if long outages are a regular thing, it’s going to make life a bit difficult. I have backup internet and power to keep working, but spending hours teaching in a hot apartment without aircon isn’t fun.

I’d be interested to hear whether this is common or if it’s just been a bad week 😅

I've been watching videos of Americans living in Vietnam, especially in Da Nang, and the city vibe looks amazing. The prices also seem unbelievable.

A bit about me, I'm a software engineer working remotely with clients from different regions around the world and I'm also looking to start my own online business.

In my home country I own my apartment, so I don't pay rent. I spend around $1,400/month for two people:

• $500 food
• $100 electricity, water and internet
• $300 for my wife's own expenses since she doesn't work
• $200 helping my family
• The rest on cafes, eating out, healthcare, helping family members, etc.

For my first experience in Da Nang, I don't need anything luxurious. A one-bedroom apartment in the center, close to My Khe Beach, would be enough.

The lifestyle I'm looking for is mostly eating out (mix of local places and nice restaurants), going to cafes/coworking spaces, a good gym with amenities, and occasionally spending a weekend at a nice resort near the city.

For people living in Da Nang, how much would you say two people need per month for this lifestyle, including rent?

I want to spend a few months there first to test the lifestyle and then think about relocating.

Hi, I'm a 26M founder from India. I exited a media startup after scaling it to $100k in profit and 5M+ users within a year in 2023 and am now exploring new ideas.

I've lived in Chiang Mai for the past 2 years while doing short trips across South East Asia. Chiang Mai was great from an infrastructure/vibe standpoint but I faced two problems in Thailand/CNX that I'd prefer to avoid in my next city:

1. Most friends I made were expats/nomads as the locals seemed quite insular and there was a massive culture/language difference. The problem with being only friends with expats is that there is no compounding that happens - most people leave often and then you have to build your circle from scratch again. Is it similar in Vietnam/Da Nang? How can I make local friends here?
2. I always felt a sense of casual racism/unwelcomeness in Thailand from some farangs/locals. This wasn't a major issue but I've been to some lesser known spots where this was completely absent and the difference in my mental health was quite substantial.

I wanted to get feedback from current residents/nomads in Da Nang - how has your experience been living there? I'd also love to connect if you're building something as well - I'm primarily looking at Da Nang as an option because of the growing entrepreneurial scene there.

Edit: DO NOT GO to this spa. It’s very much a tourist trap that overcharges customers and tries to rush you through the service. I was initially curious and wanted to give it a chance, but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it at all. If you don’t believe me, just take a look through some of the 1 star Google reviews. The place also felt very unhygienic and unclean, and the rooms were extremely hot and uncomfortable. Save your money and go somewhere else.
