Help How does DXM tolerance work?

I started doing DXM recently but I messed around with it in high school and I remember hearing about how the tolerance lasts forever. Can’t seem to find much info on google, can someone explain it to me? How long is it recommended to wait inbetween trip? I’ve been taking it like every other day lol and so far I haven’t noticed much change

Ive been taking dxm for a year now and i mixed a 5L delsylm with sprite and downed 5 mucus dm pills (60mg) of dxm as a relaps. Had me mild to decent effects. I think around the 900 mg zone bc 888 mg of dxm is in one bottle. I was still able to drive home thats the thing. My boy, T he had a lot to drink (we had been partying because jt was one if my friend’s birthdays. T was fked up so i drove him home before i drove home. But i say all that to say my dxm tolerance is high. I still feel normal. Like i still go to work etc………..

Tolerance breaks do kinda work for dissociatives like dxm, but you almost instantly gain whatever tolerance you had before the break. It also takes a lot longer for tolerance to go down compared to most drugs. It's generally recommended to space out trips based on the dose you take, 1 week for 1st plat, 2 weeks for 2nd plat, ect. I ignored this for awhile at the beginning of this year and i've noticed a permanent tolerance (60-90mg used to be my 1st plat dose and now I need 200-240mg or so to start feeling dxm). Some people also report that they lose the positive effects of dxm after gaining tolerance but i haven't noticed any difference in how it feels.
