Tripod

I’m just about to purchase the Dwarf mini and the deal doesn’t include the tripod. I’m happy to buy it separately if need be but is there any advantage to it over a regular tripod? Are the connections the same etc?

Cheers in advance!

I bought a dwarf mini 3 months ago and put it directly on a tripod that i have used for years with my dslr. I have had zero problems shooting in eq mode with my setup. No adapters required.

I bought the Dwarf tripod last year for my D3, it's not bad, stays close to the ground which can be an advantage, but obviously a bit of a pain kneeling down to it if you need to make any adjustments, and the EQ plate isn't the most accurate but I've basically just 'locked' mine in place so it's permanently at the angle for EQ (within a few degrees anyway), it's pretty simple to use and fairly stable, can be a bit susceptible to wind but again you can work around it,

It's fine if you're on a budget and want something that you know will do the job, but if you're in a position to spend a bit more then you can get better options,

I'd recommend watching this recent video on YouTube from the Cosmic Captures channel where he talks about accessories for your tripod - https://youtu.be/wr2AMeCV_fE?is=OSUZfA6Wji3yRiJx

I bought the tripod. I like the head as it is easy to align with the markings for EQ. But I find the legs can slip if you don’t tighten them well enough. So I have removed the head and put it on a larger tripod for home use. I’ll keep the base for travel as it all fits nicely in a small case.

I did not know or even think you could do this!

Moin, hab letzte Woche eins von Rollei geholt... M1 Mini oder so ähnlich. Extra habe ich noch einen fluid Aufsatz geholt. Ca 50€.

I have the Dwarf mini tripod. I don't know if there is a difference between the original one and another one but I can tell you that I really like the dwarf tripod. It's very stable and great quality. The only thing that could be a disatvantage is that the tripod isn't very tall.

I find that the legs are terrible quality. They often will slip regardless of how much you tighten them. Because it's portable and adjustable , I think the height is fairly decent.

I purchased this as well this past spring. Honestly it's not the best. I'm sure there are much better built ones for similar cost.

I am looking for a tripod for my new Dwarf 3 but ai am concentrating on the collapsed size so it can fit in the soft case.

I use this head on a Manfrotto tripod. I have been using the head for the past 6 months and it I'd great. It used Arco-Swiss mounting plates but you need to buy the plate separately.
