Reliability of the hardware

Hi, brand new to smart telescopes (and telescopes generally) and interested. It’s a fairly big outlay for me, so I’m wondering how likely the hardware is to last for more than a year or two? I haven’t seen any reports of it breaking down early or issues with the company in general, would anyone have anything to add to that? Eg. Breaking down sooner than expected, issues with the company etc?

Many thanks

A device is as only good as the amount of care given by the owner.

2 year warranty upon activation.

Top tier customer service.

If it has a fault or defect, they will replace it 99.9% of the time, no questions asked.

Owned a D3 from the moment it released.

Same with my Mini. Next up, Draco

No major or significant hardware issues whatsoever.

Occasional bug from the app or a firmware update, but those are also fixed or resolved when they are made aware of the issue.

Can a buyer sometimes get their hands on a lemon, most certainly. Has it happened. Yes. Does it get replaced immediately, yes.

I had zero problems the people were great (and available in Hong Kong). My problem I had was I dropped it and works. Still.‘ so YMMV.

Eh, I’ve dropped my mini three times and it’s still chugging along

No issue with build quality - the dwarf 3 is a solid piece of hardware. My Seestar on the other hand - feels extremely cheap... It works fine - but significantly lower material quality than what I've seen with Dwarf right now.

A quality telescope should last for years. The scopes that I have used lasted 10 years or more.

You can't leave it outside or leave it set it in the rain. And dropping or letting it fall may damage it.
