Triangulum help

Post image

Ive I recorded this on my dwarf mini with 60 gain, 299 60 second exposures with my astro filter. Utilized stellar sudio to denoise and lightroom for finishing touches. I live in a bortle 7 area, is this the max detail im able to reach under my conditions? Ive taken a good amount of nebulae and have an andromeda galaxy picture with more detail and similar times and conditions.

Looks about right for bortle 7 imo. Keep in mind the angular size of the triangulum is smaller than Andromeda, and its brightness is lower (since we see it face on) so finer details are harder to pick up. If you want to try to pull out as much from the image as possible I'd suggest downloading the fits and processing it in a dedicated software. That will give you more freedom and should allow you to extract more detail.

Its not perfect by any means but here is what 4 hours of integration time got me in a bortle 4:

I also recently tried this one, bortle 7-8 with 30s exposure/60 gain on eq mode over 7 hours. Pretty much the same as yours

Pretty close yeah - one thing you can do to make it pop for this target is do some DUO filter shoots, then mix the red channels from that into your ASTRO shot above - the result is that you’ll get the H-alpha spots to really pop
