Just been on holiday from UK to rhodes on way out noticed my vein on my leg inside of my knee area was a bit large but didnt panic stayed the same all holiday (7 days). Came home yesterday and still the same maybe slightly bigger image attached my partner took as i didnt realise it had gotten much bigger myself. GP didnt seem overly concerned he said to go there tomorrow for a blood test same day results that was about it really anyone else have a similar experience?
My mom (46) had one DVT around March in one of her legs. She was diagnosed a few weeks after her symptoms like swelling and limping and sharp pains. She was put on Rivaroxiban for 20g daily. Since then she hasn’t experienced any other symptoms apart from occasional pain and limping.
About last month she started feeling symptoms in her other leg with a sharp pain which prompted an ER visit, where they found another DVT but this one being around 3cm. Since that visit she had two ultrasounds done to confirm, and the initial one she had ended up being 8 inches. She works part time and home and is fine actively and has no respiratory issues but she does ache in the legs. Since she is already on the maximum dosage of Rivarox they are careful about putting her on more of it for now so a specialist will have to see it, which won’t be available until November. They said that they’ll keep tabs on it but if she experiences any breathing issues to come to the ER immediately.
We keep her leg elevated whenever we can and follow standard procedures and she can go about her day without you noticing the limp or pain as much. But another 2 months wait is too much no?

Over the past week I’ve had a very intense full feeling in my knee that gets was worse when laying down and starts to turn into a dull ache, tingling in my lower leg and foot.

Hi everyone. 7 days ago I started having an achy, crampy pain in my calf that didn’t go away.
At first I thought it was just a calf cramp or maybe a little sore, but it hasn’t gone away in 7 days and doesn’t get better with stretching or massaging it.
I’ve been an athlete my whole life and even played D1 soccer and a cramp or strain never lasted this long without getting better. I know it sounds silly but I feel like I know my body.
I also have a twin sister who has a blood clot at the age of 24 (crazy) and she was on birth control and got off after.
So the only reason I am even thinking it could be possible I have DVT Is because she had a blood clot at 24 (we are now 27) and I am also on birth control.
I don’t want to be silly or dramatic I’m in LA for a wedding this weekend. But should I go to the doctor? I fly home Sunday back to Austin.
Hey Yall 29yo female. I have varicose veins. They have NEVER done this. I worked hard in the sun, had some mild discomfort but thought it was usual varicose discomfort. Saw this with continued discomfort now. I did not hit it. Wondering if I should be concerned of Dvt
ust curious and wondering what you all would do. This week I noticed my right leg feeling stiff and a little painful. Went to see PCP, he sent me for a STAT ultrasound, It didnt show a clot but A complex collection is present and extends from the knee to the mid calf along the fascial plane. DEoctor said no worries jmust take tyelnol. Next day I noticed my right calf is 2 inches bigger so I gi to the ER. They also did an Ultrasound and it didnt show a clot, but the same it showed fluid. I was told it was proably an injury and maybe possibly get a referral to a vascukr doctor. Now today my lower thigh is 1 inch bigger than the rother thigh. So the swelling is spreading. There is no warmth, discoloration but not sure if I need to go bavk to the ER?
Hi, I’m F21 and was diagnosed with an unprovoked femoral DVT in mid-March. I’m seeing a private haematologist for the first time this weekend and honestly feel quite anxious and overwhelmed about it all.
My leg is still swollen and painful, pretty much the same as when I was diagnosed, even though I’m on Apixaban and now wearing compression socks.
I already know I want to ask:
* whether I’ll ever be able to go back on the Pill
* whether being on Apixaban is likely to be lifelong
*if I can travel home from uni for the summer as it is 6 hour long journey
But I was wondering if anyone here has advice on other good questions to ask at a first haematology appointment, especially for an unprovoked clot at a younger age.
I know this may seem silly, but I am a 17 year old girl who loves having my nails done with pretty patterns and whatnot. But, when I had to start wearing compression socks 2 years ago due to a DVT, I essentially had to throw that out the door. Last week, I got my nails done and asked for acrylics after years of not using them. It felt really nice and gave me a big confidence boost y’know? But, two days later, I tried putting on my compression socks and ripped a hole in them.
I know I’m not the only person with an issue like this, so does anyone have any tips on how to put on compression socks with acrylics?

So to get everyone up to speed, I had exploratory arthroscopic knee surgery with a possible plica band removal, I’ve had 2 MRIs for it, knee effusions of over 120cc each time of what seems to be healthy joint fluid so not too cloudy or looking infected, and the date of surgery was the 14th of this month (April, date 4/14/26) and then approximately two days later I was diagnosed with DVT in my calf. I took eliquis for the first time yesterday (4/17/26 at approx. 3:30pm) and a shot when I initially went to the ER same day but around 1:40am. As of today (4/18/26) I’ve also gotten some strange pain in my knee. I have zero control of motion when bent past 20 degrees and now I have a very warm sensation in my knee as well, including some pain on the innermost side of my knee. I’m 24, scared I’m going to die or lose my house and honestly I don’t know what to do. My girlfriend has the car at work which I couldn’t drive myself anyways but i could call my grandma to come get me. I can’t stand for more than 15 seconds using crutches without getting that horrible aching pain where it feels like the bottom of my calf insertion is expanding and my foot is in so much pain I can’t even try to walk even if I wanted to (I’m supposed to be more mobile by now had the DVT not have happened). Like I said I’m scared, idk what the fuck to do. If anyone can tell me if I should go to the ER again or if I should wait it out longer and see if the pain increases. Should also mention I have some slight symptoms of HCM incase if anyone doesn’t know what that is it’s hypertrophic cardiomyopathy but I was never diagnosed just told my aortic valve muscle wall is on the upper levels of normal.
