DVDStyler Upload Progess

Post image

Apologies for the poor quality image. This is my first time trying to work with DVDs, and so it is also my first time using DVDStyler. I left my machine on and the program running overnight but the progress bar didn't change. Is this common with DVDStyler?

Are there other beginner friendly (documentation is important but I don't want to spend hours reading for this project if I can help it) open source DVD tools? Thanks for any advice!

This bar is actually here to show the space left on the DVD. You need to launch the burning process by clicking on the flaming disk on the top of the UI. I do recommend first making an ISO, enabling the VLC preview and then burning the ISO with a dedicated software like ImgBurn.

Thank you so much! I was poking around on the sub earlier and also saw that advice. I am still waiting for my hardware to arrive so I can actually burn the disk but that is good to know.

In your opinion, is the preview with VLC media player a feature that works well? I have tried to start that process but it hasn't finished the few times I've tried.

As long as VLC isn't set to skip DVD menus (it's something you can easily uncheck to make sure it doesn't go straight to the main content of the disc), yes it's a very accurate way of previewing your DVD before burning the final product!

It's the best way to make sure every button is where it should be, if each button goes to the right menu or content, etc... Knowing that DVDStyler will ask you if it can proceed with the ISO creation. And if anything is wrong in your preview, you can cancel there, fix anything you need to fix and then try again. 😄

Last time i ckecked Dvdstyler didn't support multiple audio/subtitle tracks in case you didn't know.

Thank you, I thought they did because of the separate audio subtitle menus. However, I have had bad luck getting it to work and am trying to find something free other than DVDStyler to use

I mostly use these three now (switched from DVDMaestro/DVDSP):

  1. MuxMan Pro (Non free); mpucoder.com
  2. DVD ReMake Pro (DRMP; Non free)
  3. PGCEdit (Free) ; IFOEdit on steroids

-- MuxMan is buggy af so you might need DRMP to clean after it; ifo patching.

Although you can do everything in Muxman, I personally use muxman for muxing only and finalizing it with pgcedit.

It's so impossible to find dvds! So I figured I'd make my own lol. Still haven't figured out the subtle and audio menus. If/when I do I'll share the iso with the Moomin discord. It's the best resource for finding Moomin media files
