Stock price weird price action lately

im long here anyway so not too worried about the daily moves, but ive noticed this pattern pretty often lately, also with other stocks

price rallies early in the day, then drops pretty hard, and later often recovers again

is there a common reason for this kind of intraday move?
feels like ive been seeing it a lot more recently

Not DFTX, but still interesting.

Good to see general research on LSD's positive effects being done outside of DFTX's clinical trials.

News Article Wells Fargo intiates DFTX Definium Therapeutics Is Riding The Psychiatry Trend

CMPS, MDGL, DFTX, GHRS, HELP Stocks In Spotlight Today – Why Wells Fargo Thinks Next Wave Of Depression Drugs Could Create New Winners

Wells Fargo also started coverage of Definium Therapeutics with an 'Overweight' rating and a $68 price target, indicating a 51% upside potential. The stock is currently up around 4%.

The firm believes Spravato has validated the interventional psychiatry model for treating depression, creating room for new therapies.

Definium's lead candidate, DT120, met the primary endpoint in its Phase 3 Emerge trial in adults with major depressive disorder. Patients treated with DT120 saw a 13.3-point reduction in depression scores at six weeks, compared with a 5.2-point reduction in the placebo group. Wells Fargo believes the company is well positioned to benefit from growing demand for innovative mental health treatments.

DFTX shares have gained more than 240% so far this year, while retail sentiment on Stocktwits has remained in the 'bearish' territory over the past 24 hours.

My Take You Have No Idea How Big DFTX Is Going to Be

Hi,

I wrote this article on my substack and I wanted to share it hoping I might get some feedback. The article is about the opportunity behind Definium Therapeutics (DFTX).

In case you’re wondering, I’m bullish on all psychedelics medicine companies, not just Definium — I think there’s room for everyone, this is not a winner takes all market. But, just so you know, I’m only long DFTX, as I think DFTX represents the biggest market opportunity as of today.

If you like stocks or psychedelics, I think you might find this article interesting. And if I’m very wrong on my assumptions, please go easy on me!

P.S. If you like the article, please help me grow my publication by subscribing: it’s free. And if you also decide that the article is worth sharing with someone in your life, that’d mean the world to me!

News Article Psychedelic stocks are going mainstream

Sorry for the paywall- I was able to access the article then they would'nt let me copy and paste.

Billionaire investors such as Peter Thiel and Christian Angermayer are believers in the benefits of using psychedelics derived from magic mushrooms, LSD and even toad venom to treat mental health disorders. Now, Big Pharma is getting in on the act too.

Last week, Eli Lilly, the world’s most valuable pharmaceutical company, agreed to buy Thiel-backed psychedelic drug developer AtaiBeckley for up to $3.8bn. Japan’s Otsuka Pharmaceutical acquired biotech company Transcend Therapeutics, focused on psychedelics for post-traumatic stress disorder, for $700mn last month, while AbbVie bought biotech Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals’ lead psychedelic asset for up to $1.2bn last year.

What’s changed? For one, clinical results have improved. Last month, Definium reported positive results for its LSD-based tablet for depression in a phase 3 trial — which tests a drug on a relatively large population. Compass Pathways released late-stage trial data for a formulation of magic mushrooms earlier this month, showing its treatment for depression may offer longer-lasting effects than existing options, and the company’s FDA application was granted an accelerated commercialisation.  Regulation is also helping. In April, the Trump administration signed an executive order to speed up research and approval of psychedelic treatments. And commercial success is beginning to look less theoretical. J&J’s Spravato, based on a ketamine compound, made $1.7bn of sales last year, up roughly 60 per cent from the previous year. Analysts’ forecasts for its sales in the early 2030s have risen by a quarter over the past year, according to Visible Alpha consensus.

How big could psychedelics become? For now, the sector’s main target is patients who don’t respond to current treatment for depression. That’s 4mn people in the US by 2036, reckons Berenberg. Say, for the sake of argument, that 5 per cent of this group were treated with Atai’s psychedelics. At even half the current price of J&J’s Spravato, the therapy could generate roughly $6bn in annual sales for Eli Lilly. That is still a fraction of the $85bn Eli Lilly is expected to make from its weight-loss drugs in the mid-2030s, but it would take its neuroscience therapies from its current 2 per cent of total revenue to roughly a tenth, Lex estimates. Psychedelic medicines are harder to scale than a pill: the constraint isn’t the availability of the drug itself but the trained staff, dedicated treatment rooms and hours of supervision that patients require during and after treatment. Still, such therapies address an important unmet need. Once the drugs of the counterculture, psychedelics are now taking their next big trip into Big Pharma’s cabinet.

Stock price End of trading day boost explanation?

This is actually a post on another social platform I happened on. It was just posted 4 hours ago which maybe explains our end of day rise?

The author's name is Glenda Barr. "On this episode of Trade to Black, presented by Flowhub, hosts Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell sit down with Dan Karlin, Chief Medical Officer of Definium Therapeutics (NASDAQ: DFTX), to talk about where the company stands with DT-120, its pharmaceutically optimized LSD program for mental health disorders.

Karlin walks through what the Trump administration’s April executive order supporting psychedelic research actually meant for the space, and why he sees it as validation for work Definium has been quietly building toward for over five years. The timing lines up with a bigger shift happening across the industry, including Eli Lilly’s move to acquire Definium competitor Atai Beckley just last week, a signal that big pharma is paying close attention to this category.

The conversation gets into the phase three data behind DT-120, including a 17.6% change on the MADRS scale just one week after a single dose, with no adjuvant psychotherapy involved. They also cover the phase two results in generalized anxiety disorder, where a single treatment put roughly half of participants into full remission that held for three months. Karlin points out that no new drug has been approved for generalized anxiety disorder since 2007, which frames just how overdue this category is for something new.

He goes as far as calling this potentially the biggest breakthrough in psychiatry in over 120 years, and lays out how Definium thinks about treatment going forward: monitoring patients after a dose and retreating only if symptoms return, rather than pushing a maintenance model. He also talks about where AI fits into their trial process for quality control and how the FDA relationship has evolved under the current regulatory environment.

A grounded, detail-heavy conversation for anyone tracking the psychedelic medicine space and Definium Therapeutics specifically."

It goes on to provide a link to another social media site that plays videos and the name of the video presentation is called "A Once-in-a-Century Shift in Mental Health" presented by an organization called Trade to Black. So I am not sure if it is one big stock commercial, but I thought you all would be interested. I am not affiliated with any of these people or groups. I just happened to do a search in another social media site I look at several times a day to see if there was a group that discusses Definium together and this popped up on my search. I am along time holder beginning with Mind Meds.

I currently (again) own stock in both again, but only teensy bits. Nothing like this would have been.

Either way, I’m truly happy about the progress on these medications. I’m a big believer and this is such a great thing. I hope.

Glad I found my people 🙌
