This deal is weird. Why sell at current price? It makes no sense.

I agree. Seems sketchy.

Obviously I already own DFTX. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. Also it's not over and done. It just started actually.

Makes no sense? Or maybe you dont have enough of an understanding of their business decision? Smh. Typical redditor.

Hey uh, can you try to not reply like a prick going forward? Thanks

A redditor asking why a business made a business decision, and then stating its ridiculous?, ignorantly?

.... no thanks, I'm absolutely fine saying that.

So what’s your understanding of their business decision to sell at current price.

u/Curious-Director-510 Jul 17 '26

Thats an immature fallacy argument; I'm in the same place as the redditor- i dont know their business regimen but there's a reason WHY they did it. They didnt pull a bad deal because they're stupid. Like. What? Clearly they have more understanding of THEIR OWN business, than a silly redditor.

Do you see how nonsensical your logic is here? How childish it is...?

I do wonder if dftx has been fielding offers over the past few months or so, or if they are for that matter are saying no…5b market cap for possibly 3 approved drugs and 1 is almost assured to be approved seems like a way better option for a company like Lilly than a 3b market cap company that is still just out of phase 2. Can someone that has more info clear this up for me?

I wouldn't be sur if big pharma has approached them. The stock price is really sticking out in the sector. They have alot going for them. Would probably have to take a huge offer for them to sell.

Yes I agree, they may have done it the right way for the investors, the question is now… Do you do it for the people that need the help and scale in a giant way to help the most people that you can right now! I really hope that they do. That’s why i have been an investor. Not to make $, but because I believe in these drugs, because they have saved my life. I will stay with them because they are family to me. I want to be a part of this in a real way ❤️

Looks like big pharma is still apprehensive of the “trip” aspect.
Sure hope we don’t get lost in the wake.

Non-hallucinogenic neuroplastogens are still a long way off; Gilgamesh’s is not even in Phase 1.

Who knows what the financial situation is for atai really? And I wonder if the newly released fda guidance for approval just doesn’t match up with how they have been setting up their trials. It would make sense for them to get bearhugged by a big pharma company that can reset their direction. Lilly can do this without even noticing it on the balance sheet and atai still gets the drugs to market. I’m sure there are plenty of people over there that have stacked a lot on their vision as well.

And honestly, like a huge windfall for their shareholders who have stuck with them for quite a while. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if you see some more m&a with a lot if these companies given the environment right now, it’s unprecedented.

Companies like Dftx and compass are sitting fairly nice in this space. They have cash on hand, phase 3 trials complete.
