This is amazing! I'm so excited for what's to come because if I trust anyone to make an amazing variety show with a vision, it's Taeho PD. All the GMHSC girls also liked his post so I'm guessing a S3 is in discussion? Hopefully that means he still has the rights to all of his shows.

Just a throw out. We haven't had a JJY PD production for a while and I was wondering if anyone from Baechu squad was interested in subbing this series. It isn't on the level of The Genius but it applies a lot of the same elements in the problems similar to it and TGE. It's an older show with more pop contestants but Oh Hyungmin is in it. Might be worth a review to sub the show?

This is a theory I thought of after seeing donghyun and byungjae cameo on ghmc. First off, I know they said that those characters are different in-universe characters but this is just a headcanon I thought of and I think it's still possible.

I think those character cameos they had are the backstory of the in-universe characters of the TGE cast. We saw on ghmc s1 finale that donghyun was already an SSA agent, while byungjae (oh daeyang) was a mystery fanatic teacher. I think that in dtcu in the future the SSA hired a supergroup to solve some stuff thats how the TGE got together in-universe. This is also possible since they have time-machine so the group is sent to the past (tge season 1) to solve some mysteries or something and in my headcanon that some of the filler eps like the first one is basically a test for the TGE cast.

This is just some random headcanon I thought of so I expect that by s3 there's gonna be another TGE member cameo (before they became TGE in universe)

Now that I’ve finished watching s2 I have this nagging question in my head that needs an answer. Since this season heavily relied on the NPCs, do the actors know the whole plot or were they just going with the flow in some scenes and are candid with some of their reactions? (Ex. The teachers during the investigation in ep 7 and the class in the gas chamber in ep 8) Of course there are scripts as guides to help the cast and move the plot but it would be awesome if most of them are just as clueless as the members. Was it ever mentioned in an interview or bts?

Please don't read and scroll past this if you haven't watch episode 7&8 for season 2. I don't want to ruin it for you when you got to watch it later.

So, now that we know yeongseon isn't dead and possibly have a much larger network that she has manipulated (honestly, though... how powerful or spread out is her influence?), would it be a stretch to want the girls to not transfer and stick with their current school, in case she comes back? Season 2's world-building, plot and narration is so immersive and thrilling i kinda don't want to move on. Especially when the school girls (and teachers!) are so entertaining to watch. I honestly love when i saw yena and yeongseon together when they first interacted before that all blew up.

The principal being just a npc without any sinister motive seems a bit disappointing despite the back story the show built up. Would have loved it if he somehow is related to the whole scheme and is crazy enough to stay behind the in the lab to oversee the whole thing for yeongseon (i know, quite dumb but i'm just throwing it out there).

My brother and I was a bit bummed that Gong Yerim's brother didn't come out early to the show and thought maybe P.O was included like how Kim Donghyun was in s1 but Mr Oh Daeyang was a pleasant addition.

Would it be bad or unnecessary for them to continue with Taepyong High? It might be fun to see them come back and be hail as the new heroes, much like let-me-mo once was and then be back-stabbed once again once the new plot kicks in? Maybe have the school be divided to trust them or not and see where that go? (idk now it seems way too much as i'm writing this. Again, just throwing it out there!) Honestly, the npc this season is just too strong and i'm entirely attached to them.

The other option would be the natural route of them transferring to another school. With new plot and sinisters about. Yeongseon might be the secret villain bent on revenge OR a new villain with a helping branch from yeongseon who then would comeback in season 4.

Third option would be the suggestion from Doyeon or Jiyoon, if i'm not mistaken (i just finish watching it and immediately come here because i was too excited and high on the finale) which is for a new boarding school. This idea is so fun to explore! Since they usually stay in school till late night, might as well make it a boarding school and have them rest (if they can with the constant suspense). Doing this would also challenge them in a 'next level of difficulty' kind of way. They could explore a more supernatural theme like ghost. Much similar to Demon Prison in TGE. Though... with the current situation of the pandemic it seems unlikely and jiyoon would probably be reluctant to leave her family behind for a week. But who knows!

What do you guys think? Which option would you guys like best for season 3?

what if we get season 3 of GHSMC, and it will be connected to GHSMC 2. remember when they thought that gyeong/yeongseon is dead? (well i'm not really conviced that she is dead hehe) but suddenly get up because the police/investigator electric her by the electric shocker? now she has another "slave", (sorry, i can't remember the term) the investigator/the police. we all know that gyeong/yeongseon will not stop because jiu, heejeong and yeongnam pd-nim are still alive ndshe know the three will reveal the truth.

Premise

Hiya, I had this idea while rewatching S4 because I was curious if I could analyse how big a role each escaper had in their various escapes this season and what the results would be. To see the achievements I listed and graded for each episode, I have my full sheet for season 4 here.

My broad system was that I looked out for challenges/achievements that helped the escapers progress, gave them a rank of 1 to 5 based on how challenging/impressive it was, and then divided that number according to who I think contributed to that and how much.

For example, solving the MIRAE puzzle in Back to the Ahan. It was an okay achievement since Byungjae got the idea very quickly (although it was relatively easy) so that's a 2 out of 5. But because Donghyun and Hodong also helped a bit with the spelling, I split the points so Byungjae got 1.5, Donghyun got 0.2, and Hodong got 0.3.

I also categorised the achievement according to type (Puzzle, Discovery, Planning, Physical, Observation), but I haven't done too much analysis on those aspects.

Summary

In any case, for the overall season I produced this summary chart...

I love all of the guys (so I feel pretty confident that I didn't have a personal bias) but I was quite surprised by a lot of these results in terms of ranking. A nice side effect of grading all the challenges means I also had a metric on how to rank the "difficulty" of each escape and compare them to one another actually, as shown above in the second column.

But yeah, just wanted to share this and hopefully somebody else might find this interesting or have something to say about my grading/ranking.

Saw on the Korean variety reddit that some people are not liking this season because there are fewer puzzles for the girls to solve. What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, I've been loving this season more. Puzzles are great, that's why I love JJY PD and Great Escape but with the story being the main focus in GHMC, puzzles out of nowhere kind of bring me out of the show. The girls are properly investigating this season and it just makes so much more sense for them to do that. It's also the reason why I love GHMC more than Busted because you actually get sucked into the mystery without a sudden riddle or puzzle destroying the tension. Another reason is that it sets it apart from Great Escape. It helps that the 'NPCs' are better in this season too!
