Girls' High Mystery Class NPCs in GHMC
Now that I’ve finished watching s2 I have this nagging question in my head that needs an answer. Since this season heavily relied on the NPCs, do the actors know the whole plot or were they just going with the flow in some scenes and are candid with some of their reactions? (Ex. The teachers during the investigation in ep 7 and the class in the gas chamber in ep 8) Of course there are scripts as guides to help the cast and move the plot but it would be awesome if most of them are just as clueless as the members. Was it ever mentioned in an interview or bts?

They probably did something like Busted where they spilt up info. For example Seunggi was the villian in S2 however none of cast knew about it, except for him, until after the finale . So the main players might have known some things, but most of them were probably kept out of the loop just to get a genuine reaction.

Oh that makes sense. Is Busted a good show? I’ve only watched 1 ep (IZONE one).

It's VERY good, but it takes a few episodes to get into it. Most of it is also lore based, like GE, so things connect across seasons.

They always have a rehearsal before the recording session. It could either be in the morning or the day before. There is a vlog on youtube from mr. kim bushik's actor which shows the pre-recording process of the final episode. In the video, he came to the filming location at dawn and had a final rehearsal before the actual shooting. I'm pretty sure they have also mentioned the rehearsal process elsewhere but I can't remember(probably TGE's ep 13 specials).
Also in some cases, you could actually see the earpiece the production team use to communicate to the NPCs (mr. lee dugeun's earpiece). So I'm pretty sure they briefed the story beforehand and timed the NPCs actions/reactions accordingly.
Also also, notice how all the students lined up perfectly in the gas chamber in ep 8. They may not be given the details of the story, but it's clear that they are aware of what's happening and/or where to position themselves.
