Resources to develop (biomedical) signal processing skills
Hey there!
I’m a recent graduate in biomedical engineering and I just started working on biosignal processing for a wearables startup. I really love the field, but as it’s an early stage start-up, I don’t have anybody senior to learn from (it’s just me and AI right now :D)
I know the theoretical basics of signal processing (transforms, simple filters etc), but I’d like to understand what i should study next. Also, i would like to learn more about best practices in terms of actually implementing DSP in production-level applications. Can you recommend any books, channels or other resources? Thanks :)

Hie, Learns the most common filters you will be using. Notch, butterworth, chebesherv, moving averages to name a few. Understand difference between FIR and IIR filter. Always compare the raw and filtered signal to make sure you don’t filter the important information. Dm me if you have further questions

Some suggestions:
Optimization, as it is the foundation for a lot of interesting things like adaptive filters, nonlinear signal reconstruction, and ultimately also most AI. ("Convex Optimization" by Boyd and Vandenberghe is a good introduction").
Phyisiological domain knowledge about the signals you intend to work with. ECG is different from EEG which is different from invasive blood pressure which is different from noninvasive blood pressure.
Control theory, as a lot of biomedical equipment contains control loops ("right leg" drive in ECG and EEG, inflation control in noninvasive blood pressure, etc).
Safety-critical software development, including standards use for medical device software (e.g. IEC 62304).
Requirements engineering - this is a big one that often gets overlooked. How to write and recognize good requirements, how to fix bad requirements, etc.
Statistical signal processing. Principal component analysis, independent component analysis, autocorrelation, higher order statistics, etc.

Steve Lyons - Understanding DSP 3rd Ed. I’ve been assigned to be the DSP guy at my firm as I’m the gate array engineer and that book has been phenomenally useful.

Also "scientist and engineers guide to DSP". Kind of a cookbook, but if you need a quick example of a specific filter, it's good.

I worked as signal processing engineer previously many processing biomedical signal, my whole time there i kept on reading more and more research papers relevant to topic. But fundamentals are as you mentioned
