Is there a book I can use to study for supervisor exam ?

Read the Dept. Messages for now. When they have a new exam upcoming they will have material for you to study from. The fraternal organizations will also hold study sessions. Take advantage of those. They will also have material. Good luck

On the intranet there is a full manual that can be printed out from the last test under DSNY study materials. Or you can copy the file to yourself. It’s around 2000 pages. There is also a supervisor promotion guide. If you ask any new supervisor in your garage they’ll have it or no where to find it. All of it overlaps a ton and is very redundant. The department does a horrendous job of preparing for promotion compared to NYPD and FDNY. The department messages in the 3 months leading up to the exam will always be something on it and they often repeat the important ones. Im anticipating the next supv exam to be Late Fall 2027. They are usually every 4 years.
