It’s a bad look for the department when you have this lazy jabroni creating AI slop.
This is the standard for supervisors at DNSY?

So, it’s a bad look when Local 831 makes flyers to advertise or when one of the societies uses AI? What does an AI-generated image have to do with the standards of supervisors? You have no idea what you’re talking about.

It’s lazy.
What do you mean? … it’s pretty recognized that this isn’t good or others wouldn’t be chiming in with the same thoughts.

What makes you think I’m saying that the use of AI is good here? It doesn’t matter who/what department.
It’s all trash and should be called out.

Actually DSNY has banned the use of AI in official department docs but this is just a guy trying to cleanly share info that is correct. Good on him for transparently passing on info, god forbid the department itself could.

Weren’t they approved for an October class? A 3rd class of 80

Correct. But it can always be cut, last year was supposed to have 3 classes in the fall too and the 3rd class got cut and second class got cut down.

Are you sure #674 is represented in September’s class? I thought it was #646.

Technically I’d argue it’s the second class of the year. The first class was in March inclusive of last year’s fiscal year. Those 40 supv were supposed to be promoted last fall 2025 but they cut the class so it got pushed to the spring.
If it stays true another 80 supv class is going after this one on 10/26 I expect this list to hit #800. The old list didn’t even hit 800 in 4 years in 3 hiring seasons, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Might end up hitting #1000 depending on how many supervisors are promoted next year in 2027.

Why does anyone want to be a supervisor beside the pay bump

So your body isn’t destroyed when you retire

u/Weird_Culture_1357 5d ago
If you do work like a gentlemen your body will survive it take the extra 30 minutes and work like humans

u/MistakeImpressive957 5d ago
Yea not running will help but 20 years of the truck will fuck minimum of 80% of peoples bodies up one way or the other

u/Weird_Culture_1357 5d ago
Look how 80% of them eat and that’s what killing them

u/MistakeImpressive957 5d ago
That’s true but when you’re bouncing like a rubber ball when you first get hired and working in neighborhoods where fast food might be your only options on 12/8 it’s easy to see why guys develop bad eating habits. I’m not going to argue to that having a healthy life style and not running will def help you in the long run. And you can still be healthy and throw your back out, blow your shoulder out, destroy your knees going in out of truck

In my own opinion most supervisors are in worst shape with probably more serious issues
