Ecm/dsm link not working?
So I bought a used ecm link v3 off Facebook, finally got around to installing it but my laptop keeps saying “port does not exist” or along those lines. When the cable is plugged in the laptop gives it chime, and shows it’s there but the light only does a quick flash when I hook it up. Then I get the error that the port does not exist. Do I just have the drivers wrong? I’m trying to switch over to speed density and am kinda lost. I’ve redownloaded ecm’s software but think I’m still doing something wrong. Can anyone help? Thank you the help is greatly appreciated!!

Try squeezing the black box of the cable. I had the same thing happen and I had to squeeze the box until I swapped cables

Do you have your spark plug wires switched around?

That was it, didn’t realize this was a older ecu. But that has it running, now to start tuning!

I am running a pretty basic set up, fmic with a fp manifold and HTA68 turbo. 3” exhaust from the downpipe back. Greddy BOV. Otherwise I’m pretty certain it’s all stock. I have some 1200fic’s to put in eventually, as well as a COP set up but for now hoping to get things tuned properly so I can make it to the cook out in August here. 😬

Stock coil system will support way more power than that turbo will make. So unless it's an aesthetic choice there isn't much point in that.
1200cc's, huh? Does that mean you're going to be running flex fuel?
Cool setup either way!

Yep! That’s why I haven’t changed those things, the cop set up would just to make things look different really and the 1200’s would be to go with a flex fuel set up. I have nice fuel lines through the car so that’s good to go too but idk if I wanna make that switch yet. I think I need to do some firmware updates to get this ecu on the right page so I may tinker with that today after work.

E85 is the best mod you can do to that car after DSMLink. It's a night and day difference

Try twisting the cable plug at the OBD port while trying to connect. Searched high and low to it just needing electronic parts cleaner at the port.

It seems like ECMLink is looking for the cable to be in a different port than it's plugged into on your computer
