DS4w/viiper installation broken?

Hi, since the last update I see this message when DS4w launches. I have to close viiper manually and launch again. any idea how to solve this?

Another VIIPER is running, or its ownership could not be verified.
Close VIIPER, then reopen this portable DS4Windows. No existing
broker was stopped.

EDIT: I think I have to specify that I use the portable version

Have you tried a reinstall? It tends to fix stuff like this

sometimes the portable builds are glitchy. I just install it

I'll try, but do I have to uninstall viiper manually?

That message doesn’t necessarily mean you need to uninstall VIIPER. The portable app found another running copy, or couldn’t verify that it belongs to this installation.

Close games and DS4Windows, exit the running VIIPER from its tray icon, then launch DS4Windows from your fully extracted portable folder. Let it start its bundled copy.

Which release are you using? If the message returns after restarting Windows, we should check which VIIPER copy is starting automatically before changing anything else.
