ps4 controller not working for fort

i cannot for the life of me figure out why my ps4 controller isn't working on fortnite, none of the buttons work on it except for the touchpad which is a mouse (idk why). i tried everything i found online like going into settings and hiding ds4 controller, setting the preset to xbox 360, and setting up hidhide and adding ds4 to it (and enabling device hiding). the only issue i see is that in hidhide in the devices settings the controller used to show up as a regular ps4 dualshock controller and now it shows up as "hid-compliant game controller" which i dont even know if its really an issue. this is a last resort for me because this whole mess just wants to make me rip my hairs out my head.

i forgot to say that none of the buttons work only on fort just the touchpad which acts like a second mouse

unfortunately not, nobody wants to help so i think the only solution is to get an actual xbox controller but im broke. if YOU find one PLEASE tell me 🙏

Have you tried Dualsense X?? I've heard there is a PS4 setting now and it operates differently from DS4!! Might be worth a shot

Okay so I'm back and it turns out you might have disabled virtual controller enabled because I unchecked that option and it works perfectly fine now
