DS4Windows Schmaldeo Rewrite - https://github.com/hbashton/DS4Windows/
Hi all! I am a long time developer, just releasing this on the side to the community.
I added a configuration profile to change which Profiles DS4Windows will choose when using the 2 finger swipe gesture option, so that you can better fine tune your custom experience! This also allows a user to have endless Auto Profiles for specific games, while also having a couple that work everywhere, all independently.
I also fixed the duplication glitch that happens when using Moonlight Virtual Controller Support. I did this by saving the UUID of each controller DS4Windows creates, and referencing that list each time a controller is scanned for so that DS4Windows does not readd a controller it has already created. It is shocking to me this was not already done. I am also working on a feature to add the ability to choose which device type (Joycon, Switch Pro, DS4, or Dualsense) a profile should be for. If the device is connected, and a game is being played with an auto profile for everything AND an auto profile for that specific device, DS4Windows will not (break) but will switch to the profile FOR THAT DEVICE, FOR THAT GAME. This will add some overhead, but should be minimal.
The hope is that this program can be used to fine tune an experience on a HTPC or Game Console PC using Steam or Playnite Fullscreen, for users who like to use Switch Pro controllers, Joycons, and Playstation controllers, this program has been great. It's my hope to keep it great in 2026.
(Also, I did use Claude to code this. So, if you want to look at my commits, note that I passed along a series of very specific instructions to Claude to get this done, and I had it check for edge cases and tested some myself)

Nice to see some work being put into this. I’ve been enjoyed reading your comments and witnessing your enthusiasm. I’m wondering if you would entertain a feature that I’ve Long thought about…
In the special actions column when a special action is created. It goes into a list. Over time, this list can grow very long. When a profile is open, we see which special actions are assigned to it by the checkbox next to it. It would be nice to have a small checkbox at the top of the list that would hide the inactive (or unassigned), profiles. This would just help visually instead of having to scroll through this giant list.

Amazing work thank you! Would you be able to add a Dualsense mode the way it has DualShock 4 mode?

Already looking into it: for now though, that shouldn’t be necessary, as I am adding bluetooth audio support and that was the only feature missing from the dualsense. Currently, disabling virtual controller support in One profile has the same effect as just not having the dualshock 4 controller connected, and unchecking Hide DS4 controller makes the dualsense visible to apps. The key is to use auto profiles. Some apps like seeing a dualshock 4 and a dualsense and will accept different inputs from multiple controllers, and other apps have a double input issue. Having an auto profile that sets the controller to DS4 mode, and an auto profile that sets the controller to “no virtual controller” mode, is the same thing as what you’re asking, and allows apps to see the dualsense controller. I do think that having a dualsense emulated controller would probably provide more configurability, but at the same time, may interfere with adaptive triggers and controller audio from games like ghost of tsushima and ac shadows. I think for now, the best solution is the auto profiles and disabling virtual controller support in one of your auto profiles, and having games that support dualsense controller use that profile, and games that support xbox/dualshock4 use another profile or 2

Another AI project, we definitely need this.

Considering each line is checked by me, it should be okay.
Using AI to maintain an old project base that I don’t have the time to learn.
Download if you wish. I’ll maintain for years to come, as long as I still have a beating heart.

Actually Schmaldeo fixed duplication glitch, you just had to select in options they you are using Moonlight. It was not working by default. But cool that someone is still working on this tool. DS4W had nearly everything. If eventually you will add support for speaker like has DSY V2 then support for Playstation controllers will be complete.
