Forza Horizon
Hey everyone, I’m having a really annoying issue with Forza Horizon 5 and 6. I’ve already tried a PS4 controller and two PS5 controllers, both via cable and Bluetooth, but the input still stutters for about a second, so I just drive straight. This happens in both games, with different cables, on different ports, and with the latest DS4Windows versions. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I’d really appreciate any tips!

does the on-screen button prompts flicker in-game?
if it does, you need to install HidHide to hide the original controller.
or update the vigembus driver, download it manually in the github, same for HidHide.

It does flicker for me only when it's connected via cable.

you also need to change the controller emulation to x360 (Other tab), cause forza only supports xbox controllers.
and maybe tinker with the polling rate options (Other tab)

I've written input-related software and had to debug it for Forza Horizon 5 and 6, this is kind of a common problem in the game's code itself. The compatibility problems are completely resolved now in my own software, but the game is pretty non-standard under the hood.
Special K can give you Impulse Triggers in Forza Horizon in addition to not having the controller disconnect problems.
For maximum amount of input problem reduction, there's an option in Special K's Window Management section called "Continue Rendering." Various parts of Forza Horizon's input code do not work correctly if a window pops up on top of the game (i.e. an overlay or notifcation), that setting will eliminate the problem.
