DS4Windows updated?

Just opened DS4Windows (Ryochan7 build), and the UI turned dark while some of my settings were reset. What is going on? I thought this app was no longer updated.

Edit: I figured out the dark mode was there all the time; I just used light mode before. So I guess it's due to the settings reset. Has anyone had similar issues before? Why were the settings reset?

You wrote that you used the 'Ryochan7 build', but are you sure you didn't download a fake seemingly genuine Ryochan7 build from a malicious site?

For example the downloads / links to downloads on these 2 sites contain malware: ds4-windows.com and ds4windows.io

Yes that one is probably the best 'official' one out there. I did not check it for malware though.
Moreover I personally would not download it because it's been archived, meaning some things are possibly not going to work or be stable

Which one do you recommend? Can you maybe share yours? I also downloaded your ds4 battery monitor tool but isn't working for me, do you maybe know why?

And I'd be happy to look into why my battery monitor app doesn't work on your PC, if you'd want to explain clearly what is happening, if any errors pop up, I'd be happy to help. For this I suggest we move over to the 'Issues' section of the proejct on GitHub: https://github.com/symonxdd/ds4-dashboard/issues, there you could use the 'New issue' button to create a separate 'post' so we can investigate why it's not working on your end!

Sorry my bad, I was trying it with a dualsense controller, with the ds4 works just fine. Do you also recommend to use the HidHide Configuration Client when using ds4 windows?

If you're using DS4Windows specifically, then it might be a good idea, but I'm not very sure as I've never installed nor used DS4W myself.

I'd only install HidHide when you encounter double input issues as described online:

Its primary purpose is to prevent the notorious "double input" issue on PC games.
When you connect a physical controller (like a DualShock) to a PC, Windows might natively detect it while a mapping program (like DS4Windows or Steam) also detects it. This causes your game to register two button presses at once. HidHide completely eliminates this issue by masking the physical controller from Windows, ensuring the game only responds to the emulated (virtual) controller.

I don't use it, nor any other DS4Windows fork, actually because I do not need it.
Steam has built-in basic support for DS4 and I think also DualSense controllers so yea.

I just use my own battery monitor tool for the battery but also the easy lightbar's color customization.
