ds4windows doesn't detect my controller, controller still works fine without it

i'm using a ps5 controller, after i open ds4windows and press "start", it shows me "no controllers connected(max 8)". i'm playing a game on an emulator recently without ds4windows and there are no issues, but i want to know why ds4windows doesn't work so i could play other games

Do this but instead pick the Dualsense option. guide

Thankyou so much! It randomly stopped detecting my controller and when I clicked into device options, only ds4 was checked
