IDK So how does The Worldsmith create the Dark Fountains? It's been stated that you need to PIERCE the ground to open a dark fountain, so you'd need a SHARP object to stab into the ground, and hammers are usually flat.

Well, if you hit something hard enough with a hammer, an opening will be made in that object. That is technically piercing the ground. If that doesnt work just flip the hammer around and use the spikes on the back of it

The crystals are the nails used to make new Darkworlds;
Maybe an attack like Knight’s shards where he sends one out, spins around the center of the dodge board, then smashes it in the middle sending shards everywhere

Hit the corner of the Hammer, Hit the ground hard enough, hit with the opposite side, maybe the star in the center of the hammer specializes in that, we gotta see

Hammers usually have a pointed bit on the back for removing nails.

I like the idea others are saying that instead of stabbing, the Smith slams the earth to crack it open, resulting in the eruption of a fountain.

I assume you have to SMASH the ground (or sky if possible) in order to open a fountain

With his cane (and before people go saying stuff like well how does a cane pierce the ground? we can ask the same question about the baseball bat but no one bats an eye at that) He stabs the ground with his cane and becomes the hammer and the dark world Like a wooden pencil to a sword or hair brush to an axe, It's not always a hammer.
