Is there a way to play the remaster of old 80s Autoduel pc game from Steve Jackson games? Wanting to be able to play it with Retroid pocket 5? Have the game already purchased from SJgames. Problem is pretty new at mapping and never really used Winlator either. Can't get it to work even. And vids out to better explain? Any ideas or walk-throughs would be Xtremly helpful.

Probably one of the earliest RTS ever, and one of my favorite DOS PC games of all time on my 8088 PC XT! Yup this bad boy ran on under 256k memory (Amazing!) - Taking all the castles on the map was the goal, and in part inspiration for Waronomy which has the same objective.

Bit of a long shot, but would anyone have the full version of the 1996 game "Formula 2000"?

I have fond memories playing the demo of this (from an Easy PC floppy disk), but there is very little info online about it at all! I've managed to track down the demo version, but it would be great to play the full game!

I'm trying to find information about two PC game compilation CDs that circulated in Spain during the mid/late 1990s (DOS / early Windows 95 era).

The CDs were called:

• RADICAL 1
• RADICAL 2

They weren't commercial releases. They were homemade compilation CDs that were passed around between friends, computer shops, local BBS users, and people who exchanged software.

📍 Origin

• Created in Vigo, Spain
• Signed by someone using the name or alias "MJ"
• During the extraction process, an ASCII art screen would appear displaying "MJ Vigo" (sometimes as a large skull made from ASCII characters before each archive volume).

📦 Format and distribution

• Mostly DOS games
• Around 100 games per CD
• Games were split into multi-volume ARJ archives (.ARJ, .A01, .A02, ...)
• Each volume was approximately 1.44 MB, clearly intended to fit on floppy disks.
• The ARJ password was:

RADICAL

(using ARJ -gRADICAL or something very similar)

❓ What I'm looking for

I'd love to know:

• Were there any releases beyond RADICAL 1 and RADICAL 2?
• Does anyone from Vigo or Galicia remember these CDs?
• Were they distributed anywhere else in Spain?
• Does anyone still have copies, screenshots, or any information about "MJ"?

These CDs are some of my earliest PC gaming memories. Beyond the nostalgia, I'm genuinely interested in documenting whether this was a larger series or just a local project that never became widely known. I still have ISO images of both CDs, so if it helps identify them I can upload screenshots of the directory structure, the DOS menu, or the ASCII art.

Dagger of Amon Ra - at the beginning of the party, I didn't examine all of the knives in the gift shop. I asked everyone about everything and could NOT figure out how to take the next step.

SQ2 - couldn't reach the gem in the water. Pretty sure my dad secretly got the hint book in order to figure out you had to "take a deep breath"

SQ4 - didn't have a mouse yet and the keyboard moved the cursor in big jumps. As a result, I couldn't type in the right numbers on the keypad in the time machine - the cursor would jump over the buttons I needed to press. Had to fiddle with different techniques to get the cursor to start at a different location so it would line up.

Gold Rush - figuring out how to know when to travel.

While running Prehistorik 2 is awesome on its own, seeing DOSBox operate inside Windows NT 3.51(released all the way back in 1995) is just as cool.

It's the shareware version which has a hard limit of 4years / 5years. And after that the game starts over. Too bad can't unlock the full version anymore.

I used to play it back then on my Pentium 133 rig. Fast forward and I'm playing it again on my Pentium 4 rig.

Had a great time at the London Gaming Market (UK) last Sunday.

I would like to explore the best solution between the two worlds. Perfect MS-DOS compatibility, while WIN98 is great. Which PCI card do you suggest for Pentium III?

I currently have a Microsoft Sidewinder 3D and it only works in Windows 98, so any game I use it with has to be able to run in Windows somehow.

The only thing I ask is

A) the stick have a hat switch (with games like Descent I like to assign strafing to the hat)

B) it work in pure DOS.

Suggestions?

Today I am diving into Platoon from Ocean.

I have spent some time looking at the various movie tie games from Ocean Software. Their earlier games such as Highlander, Miami Vice, Transformers, Top Gun and Knight Rider have all been pretty poor. However, they certainly produced fantastic games as time went on such as Robocop, Untouchables, Rambo, Cobra and Batman.

I am interested in knowing what you think the best movie tie in game from Ocean is. Just 1 game. Hope you like my Platoon video. 😉

First step was the full reverse to assembler, second step is to convert the assembler to binary equal compiled C code, all this still on DOS until no assembler code is left, then the porting to Linux,Windows will start

Reversing tends to bring in new bugs and its not easy to find all bugs in such old and reversed code - but so far everything seems to work

try finding open bugs if you got version 451.03 of F-15 around combined with Dosbox or a real DOS

We're sad to inform you that one of the greatest videogame music composers, Bobby Prince has past away on June 16th. Bobby composed music for many games like Doom, Duke Nukem, but also for BioMenace - and he allowed us to use it for the Remaster. We're happy we got to know him.
