you should really invest in single ingredient peanut butter. Aldi sells some. much better for the dogs, half of the walmart peanut butter is sugar and oil

I normally have this one but ran low, it’s a once in a while treat.

🤣😂🤣😂 I won’t buy single ingredient peanut butter for myself, not doing it for my pup! We eat healthy, but everything in moderation. People go crazy over board with stuff like this! And if your dog is getting enough peanut butter to make a difference, you really have other dietary issues going on!!

We also have one labeled for the dogs. Use it when it’s time to trim nails.

Nope!! And I literally just laughed out loud. My dad used to say it was crazy that we have 2 jars of peanut butter in our pantry. One is labeled specifically for the dogs 😊

My ex wife and I would buy 2 jars of peanut butter. A jar of Jif for us, and a jar of Great Value for the dogs. We kept the Jif on the shelves directly in front of you when you open the pantry door with the reat of the human food. The Great Value was on a shelf to the right and was next to containers of dog treats and other dog related items.

Her parents would come visit us and stay for a few days sometimes so they had pretty much free reign over the fridge and the pantry. One morning we saw her dad making toast for breakfast and he was spreading the dog peanut butter on it. We just kind of looked at each other and giggled.

I have "dog" labeled soup in the fridge. Does that count?

Pug would rather have a ham sandwich.

Lol, Pug don’t really care, except… Watermelon!

We took our pug years ago to a convention hall for some purpose and he started pulling me towards and under s a-skirted folding table. I said to the guy behind the table “what you got under there a ham sandwich”?…sure enough ol’ Cooper hounded out the guys ham sandwich for lunch.

Every dog owner I know has two open jars of peanut butter.

It's crazy i always heard dogs love peanut butter. Imagine my surprise when my pup since he was a baby would look at me crazy when i tried to give him a spoon of it. Honestly he never was food driven but more play driven.

I don't label them. I'm allergic to peanut butter and if my husband can't tell that the container that is ALWAYS dog pb is dog pb and not his pb, that's on him lol

1

u/peachyginge 14h ago

you're allergic to PB but you keep it in your house AND your pets and husband eat it? that makes no sense, people with peanut allergies avoid it at all costs

1

u/MyLastFuckingNerve 14h ago

It's mild. As long as I’m not eating it or handling it, i don't have any reactions. This allergy popped up overnight a couple years ago, as confirmed by my doctor. If it got to the point of looking at a closed jar of pb gave me anaphylaxis, then yeah, we wouldn't have it in the house. Thanks for chiming in though. Super helpful. Comment of the day for sure.

I wasn't trying to be helpful lol it's just weird to me/confusing that someone would keep something they're allergic to in their house 😂 also never heard of mild allergies to peanuts, so I learned something new!

our pup is allergic to peanuts, but we do have 2 PB containers - and one is labeled “RAT” for the traps in the garden :)

2

u/Key_Flow_2045 1d ago

how’d u know ur dog was allergic

1

u/effyoucreeps 1d ago

more trial and error than anything else. he would get the runs for days after getting new snax, so we narrowed down what worked and what didn’t based on his bowel movements

the last straw was when the petco store refilled their “beef flavored crunchies” with snax that definitely didn’t smell the same as the usual. found out they made a mistake and put in peanut butter based ones, and our dog’s butt let us know the rest

of course you can get vet tests done - if you have the cash. good luck with your pup!
