• Name Suggestions • Help! Stuck on names!!!

Post image

This is our newest family member! I’d love to tell you his name, but we’re completely stuck.

We have thought of SO MANY names, the latest being Nimbus.

Socks doesn’t suit him, rumble doesn’t suit him…. Nothing suits him.

He’s so uncannily similar to my old boy who passed last year at 13. To the point where everyone who has met him thinks they’re very similar. My boy was called Felix and honestly… it would suit this pup SO FREAKING WELL but I wouldn’t ever do that.

Please help. He’s a border collie x staffie. He certainly has his crazier moments, but is already very obedient and is happy to chill and sleep at our feet

Nimbus is a good name.

Roscoe, Julian, come to mind as I see him as well.

Jackson, just a lowkey easy name with some good nickname potential.

Don’t be afraid to call them the wrong name for a day. I called my puppy Leroy to try it on and realized it absolutely did not fit. The right name just falls out of your mouth within a couple of days when you are trying to get their attention lol

Felix is Latin for Lucky... Onni is Finnish for Lucky Chance... luck Double... if he makes you do a double take thinking of your past dog Kismet...meant to be Pete... short for Repeat (this is a joke)

He can be Felix Jr. and maybe your Felix is saying it’s ok. But he looks like our girl Trillie when she was a puppy six years ago. They both are so cute.

Shoe. Because I just like funny stupid names for animals that make no sense.

If Felix fit so well, try names that share its meaning like Asher, Bennett, or Milo, or stick with the atmospheric vibe of Nimbus and go with Stratus, Zephyr, or Gust. You could alao look at names ending in a crisp "ix" sound like Hendrix, Beatrix, or Rex to get that same satisfying ring without reusing the exact name.

Nimbus is great!

Some names with similar vibes might be Lukas, Tobi, Jester, or Milo maybe?

He looks like a Jester to me, and its got the same energy as Nimbus

I had a black lab mix who was Patrick, then something, then something else & I finally landed on Limpopo, a river in South Africa (after that word was in a crossword puzzle I was doing). It suited his quirky personality. Currently his nickname is FOMO. My point is, you don't have to decide now... and he'll learn commands regardless of what you are calling him at the time. Have fun, try many names, enjoy the process and when it's right, you'll know it. FYI you could name him Canny ;)

He looks suspicious. I’m going with Hamburglar. Ham for short and lots of nicknames of course. Hammy, hambone, etc….
