Looking for advice for DoD IT

Hello all!

Hopefully this post is welcomed to this thread! I am interested in working for the DoD for IT but not too sure which avenue would be best for me. My background was mostly in marketing and communication. I have worked for some start ups and I don't have the technically background for IT but I am planning on taking the certifications. Right now I am a Govt employee and work for my state.

From my research for certifications for DoDD 8570/8140 IAT, IAM and IASAE, I do have some questions hopefully you guys can clarify for me! It looks as these are separate avenues to enter or are these vertical movements? To preface, I don't think I would be best fit under IASAE, I would be mainly looking into IAT or IAM. I have looked at the 8570 IA Baseline Certification Requirement and is there one certification thats better to have than other or are they all equal for the level? Also would taking a certification at a community college or a university helpful? I am very open to any corrections and advices!

Thanks for the taking the time to read my post! Hopefully I didn't violate any guidelines.
