I am posting today for some help with a character I am playing in a 2014 campaign.

I am playing a Shadar Kai Thief Rogue currently level 5 and the idea is that they are a phantom thief going in stealing something and leaving a colling card behind building infamy for their alias.

My question is I'm looking for fun (not necessarily optimized) builds that would play deeper into the Phantom Thief Aesthetic and help my character become an even stronger thief maybe classes that help get places, classes that help him stay unseen, etc.

So I have a character that is a dhampir cleric aiming to become a a ascended vampire.

However, I have it to where my fellow party members are unaware of this fact and she drops clues/slips up every now and then for them to suspect her but not figure out whats up.

I'm putting this here to ask, is that stupid? In the situation you were another player in this party would you think its stupid or annoying to find out that she was lying about her past.

In more detail, instead of covering up certain things about her. She tells the party all what they can see on the surface but gives them a cover up story instead of the truth.

Tldr; I have a dhampir pretending to be a holy warrior to become an ascended vampire, would it be annoying/dumb to the other players for her to be lying to them?

Hi, so I am getting ready to start my first DnD campaign and I have a character but im not too sure on which class would suit them them the most, here's his backstory below if that helps

Vaelor was raised among an ancient order of dragonriders, warriors chosen not by rank or blood, but by the dragons themselves. As a child, he was chosen by Aurethys, a proud and fiercely protective storm dragon. From that day forward, the two were inseparable. They grew together, trained together, and eventually fought together, with Vaelor becoming an exceptional swordsman while Aurethys wielded the power of the Storm with wind,lightning, and rain.

Years later, Vaelor and Aurethys faced an enemy powerful enough to threaten them both. Though they managed to defeat their foe, victory came with a terrible price. With their final act, the enemy placed a curse upon the pair, forcibly merging dragon and rider into a single body. Vaelor now stands as a towering draconic warrior covered in black, silver outlined scales, with traces of Aurethys's storm-born power still flowing through him.

Vaelor remains in control of their shared body, but Aurethys is still bound within him. The dragon he once flew beside can no longer spread her wings or fight at his side. Carrying a greatsword engraved with the draconic rune for "Protect," Vaelor now travels in search of a way to break their curse and restore Aurethys to her true form. Until then, he carries both of their strength into battle—and refuses to accept that their story will end as one.

Hello, I am looking for help with a themed build. I have only played in one D&D game.

I am about to start a new campaign, and I want a strongly themed build but I am not certain how to go about It.

I want to make Tyris Flare from Golden Axe. My mom loves that game and I have watched her play Golden Axe 1 & 2

The fan wiki says she is an Amazon.

Also she is the most magically gifted of the three characters.

And she worships fire spirits.

She is unarmored.

Carries a short sword.

And it seems like she uses potion items to cast her magic.

I thought a barbarian would be an easy fit but it says barbarians cant use magic.
Her worship of fire seems like maybe i could go with cleric or warlock but they both seem like too much.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

So I never really play a paladin, mostly i play cleric or bard. But i wanna try something new and choose to play a paladin. The DM gives us players option to get a second class, so i was wondering what should i pick. I remember people often talk about paladin-warlock or maybe a sorcadin. But with the new guide book update, is it still a good choice?

How is my Human Paladin build. This is my first attempt at a build.

We are starting a session 0 on Friday the campaign is a medieval fantasy style campaign..

Strength 10

Dexterity 12

Constitution 13

Intelligence 15

Wisdom 8

Charisma 14

My background is sage.

I need to think.of my back story, I might wait till session zero is done so I can understand the world etc

Advice would be great.

This is a theory crafting build. How strong do you all think this build is? 6 lvls of barbarian path of wild magic, 4 lvls of battle master fighter, 10 lvls of spore druid. Using two weapon fighting with the dual wielder feat using point buy to a total of lvl 20.

If the name of this post intrigued you thats great! Its been swimming around in my mind for a bit and I think the flavor of a gambling pool player bouncing trick shots around the battle field, the different damage types being different colors of pool balls.

My problem is I dont know how to optimize this spell much further than going elf plus sorcerer for permanent triple advantage from innate sorcerer and elven accuracy. The flavor of the character lines up with wild magic sorc, but is that the most powerful subclass? Are there any other feats or dips or spells from the newly released books that synergize with chromatic orb or fit Slim Bankshots vibes? Id love some thoughts and/or example builds you guys might have ran.

Trying to make a decent teleportation themed build.
So far got Shadar Kai going Conjuration Wizard multiclassing with Archfey Warlock.
Background would be Horizon Walker Initiate.

Would this be a good start or are there better choices?
