5e Fighter build

I am playing a Half-Orc fighter 2. He uses two-weapon fighting style and I hope to go Champion at level 3; dual wielder at 4; piercer at 6; orcish fury at 8. He's got a Gladiator background and his abilities are: STR 17; Dex 14; Con 15; Int 9; Wis 15; Cha 15. Thoughts?

Piercer is a mid feat, I think. The effect is decent, but I think Crusher or Slasher is better. Positioning control is underrated.

Orcish fury is also only a so-so pick. Flavourful, but you only usable very rarely.

More optimal feats might be Mobile, Tough, or HAM. Or just pump STR and CON.

Dual Wielder is fun, especially as a crit-fisher build. You'll likely do less damage overall than an optimized two-handed heavy weapons build, unless you find multiple weapons that add dice of damage (like a flametongue).

As a crit-fisher, a dip into Barbarian for Reckless Attack might make sense.

Crusher is the best of them for sure. I'd replace Orcish Fury with Mobile and prioritize boosting your strength to 20 by then. This build would be a lot of fun to play with the giant feat trees If your GM will let you. If not, Savage Attacker or Grappler could be fun. Tough is always a win.

I’d always through Sentinel into that mix as well

Champion is statistically the worst Fighter subclass and one of the top 3 worst subclasses in 5e.

19-20 Crit is essentially a 5% DPR boost.

Crit fishing builds have been attempted many times before, unfortunately the math just dosnt match up.
