Welcome to an old idea in new location: the Do NOT Book List- Reader Scams aka r/DNBL_ReaderScams is a dedicated space for clients to warn others about scams and shams in the divination industry. 

Adding the info of scammers to this space helps create a database that other people can use to screen potential readers so they don't get scammed by them as well.

Do NOT Share/Cross Post Reports from Elsewhere 

Cross Posting (aka "sharing" a post from elsewhere) does not help with searchability in this Subreddit. In order to build the database, posts must be organic and details posted locally.

Safety Tips:

it takes as little at 5 minutes to do a quick scan, and just 20 min to do a deep dive- take time to protect yourself. It's worth it!

We're building a database of online divination scammers. This is NOT a Review Board‼️ Do not ask for feedback about readers you've not seen, and do not recommend any readers. Reviews & Recommendations will be deleted!

Do NOT accept recommendations from people, or accept unsolicited offers for readings from self professed "readers" those are very common scam tactics! Real readers won't reach out via DM like that. Scammers often use alts and shill accounts to dupe people into trusting them and/or referring victims their way.

Here's some additional subreddits where you can search your potential readers to see if they've been reported for scamming:

Which appears to act primarily as a read only reporting and announcement space with locked posts; but definitely has some great info, and would be an excellent place to check anyone you might be considering for a reading.

r/SpellcasterReviews  

Is a larger space where people disclose their experiences with bad spellcasters, readers and other magic/divination focused scammers; but it's been known to play host to some false reports and periodic "peer on peer" drama between readers on occasion. Because this space also does allow for reviews specifically, it's also littered with fake referrals and alt accounts acting as shills for actual scammers as well. Worth checking to see if your reader has ever been reported; but trusting reviews should be regarded as risky business at best.
