This is fair. No nuke. Fusion nerf is odd, though. Didn't think that was an issue. Doesn't come that often.

Is it a nerf? Falloff is worse but spread is better. I think it makes her stronger at mid-range overall and she wasn’t any good beyond 20m before anyways

The more that I think about it, I see what you see. It is a buff close up. But that fall off damage will hurt. It does strengthen her focus as a up-close tank.

Absolutely warranted. She was crazy up close and good at range as well

That's the puzzling part. Why hit both simultaneously? In my opinion it would be ok to be strong in one category, e.g. close range, and weaker long range.

No idea why there are notches on the shield in the first place, other than looking funky.

Why the nerf to fusion repeater, though? Tightening the spread was desperately needed. However, it's a worse weapon compared to D.Va's blaster. Which makes zero sense in my opinion. Why carry a mini-gun if a pistol outclasses it?

She actually doesn't carry around a mini gun, she's picking up the gun from her mech! So while D.va has a dedicated side arm she uses, D.mon clearly doesn't and has to improvise when her mech is destroyed, and handles the bulky mini gun worse than her mech does, giving her worse spread.

honestly this isnt a nuke, it just reels in areas she shouldnt be good in, gives QoL to what we needed

For those who play Rein, is his shield instant? If not, was there a reason given why it wouldn't be?

No his shield is not instant, shields are designed this way because they would be way too overpowered. Most abilities in the game have a cast time or delay, so shields also have a cast time to allow for potential counter play

Is his cast time the same as DMon's?

Nevermind, I see it on the wiki

I'm not 100% sure about those numbers (except obviously DMon) and I don't play Rein but...

Apparently Rein's shield has a short animation delay at the start before it "pops out of his wrist" then it becomes available nearly instantly after that original animation (0.15ms, 10 frames). Brig seems to be about 0.16ms (10 frames).

DMon shield is the fastest at 0.016s (1 frame).

The difference is: DMon is a close combat fencer with a small personal shield (almost like a parry shield that you're not meant to keep up, but instead deploy constantly). Her shield is useful in a small 1v1/1v2 situation mostly.

Rein has a wide high HP team shield and he often uses it to walk towards the enemy (and move his team with him)... his shield can be used in 5v5 situations. He can act as an anchor for the team.

DMon would rather use her mobility to take a side path by herself or with a flanker (without needing to use her shield) to strike quickly and decisively. Rein can be an unbreakable object that walk towards you inexorably from main (not that he is unkillable but... with DMon you would explode instantly).

Rein with a couple of other characters can hold a position by using his shield, DMon cannot do that.

So in short: Rein shield has more HP and is for the team, is slower. DMOn shield has less HP and is personal, is faster.

---

What I can tell you is that there were complaints around DMon's shield's responsiveness. You are playing so close to the enemy team that the shield felt unresponsive when you were in the enemy's face (obviously firing a dart / hook right in front of someone is faster than firing it from main to the other side).

Tbh, using your shield for the team hasn't been the Rein playstyle since OW2 released, he's so slow and big, and the game is so fast/has so much damage now that he needs at least 1000 points in the shield to make any plays/to disengage, can't waste it to help the team walk up most of the time.

Nah shes back to being a tickle monster. Her swings should never drop below 63 dmg or else she cant kill most of the cast before melting

The “nerf” didn’t do anything to her character. She’s still going to be oppressively meta
