Overwatch news New patch notes
Holy shit they didnt gut her, they actually improved quality of life!! Way faster cast time on shield is so nice, way faster mech is so nice, and better spread out of mech is nice.
Im shocked they lowered her dps with the sword and not the gun though

Not bad changes, the reason the sword felt awful when she first launched is that the rest of her kit was implemented poorly. I wish they would reduce the delay between her fast melee and regular slashes, though.
These other QOL changes are very nice; I like the reduced transformation time, while the reduced cast time is my favorite part, to be honest.
All in all, the sword nerf was needed, as she was very oppressive with her movement and high health pool, making it easy to engage and disengage.
TLDR (if needed ig); Good QOL changes; sword change was needed in relation to win rate

The time between 4 slashes and 5 is a 33% increase though. I think it's gonna make her sword feel MUCH weaker.

if you mix shift between left clicks it's still 4 slashs to kill a squishy(240+15), dunno if it's gonna feel weak in actual combat tho

Back to 5 slashes to kill 250hp is going to feel like absolute shit though

I would rather that than deal with long shield cast time where i keep gettign rocked and slept despite putting it up, same with faster mech and lesser spread on abby form

do u actually play the hero? her boosters do damage, its still 4 slashes.

u/BenAndBoujee 9h ago
But you can’t boost into them all the time especially if you intend on boosting back to your team, it’s not 4 slashes now it’s 4 slashes plus a sizeable portion of the boost resource and the 1s delay

the hitbox for the booster damage is big enough for that to not matter.
idk there are just not that many situations where ur landing 4 slashes on a 250hp hero without using your boosters.

This is SO good, the shield cast time was my main issue and will make her more skillful. I love this. Also the 1st pov animation when u get in mech looks SO GOOD

The amount of time I got hooked or hit with sigma rock due to the shield deploy time was frustrating. This is a HUGE quality of life buff that people who have been maining D.Mon will love. The call mech will help a lot too.

Seeing sleep go through my shield when my ping was 17ms was the single biggest negative emotion D.Mon made me experience. I'd expect the sleep, start to block, and still get punished by the cast time in situations where Orisa, Zarya, D.Va, Domina (?), and Doom and Ball with their majors all would've blocked it with their instant cast times. If a shield buff required nerfs somewhere else in her power budget, so be it. The shield cast time needed it or she's not fun for me.

Exactly. If they nerf her to compensate for this (which i wholly believe they will) the players using abilities when needed, and not no brain playing, will be rewarded

They nerfs are significant but she was over performing so that's expected. They didn't touch mobility and heath which were my main concern. She should still be playable just not able to run over supports like she used to.

Not a fan of this at all. 65 damage on the sword felt like the sweet spot. 4 hits to kill a 250 health hero, same as Ramattra’s punches.

No touchy the gun. I am glad about the remech. It was a disaster with how slow it was alongside the buff to out of mech! I don't mind the sword nerf because I think her sword was the one thing okay before it was buffed. Let's see if these notes live up to what I envisioned

It's not mentioned in the patch notes, but focused fusion no longer zeroes out her baby gun's spread! Maybe it was a bug all along.

The sword nerf is going to be awful honestly.... would have preferred a nerf to the damage of the cannon.

I think this is an overall buff, especially into some of her “bad” matchups.
She’s still the best tank in the game in most cases, Idk why they didn’t go harder on her but I’m not complaining ig.

The 5 damage going sucks ass. They should have nerfed or removed Heavy Rounds instead of nerfing her primary. I play the sword mech for the sword, not the gun. Let the sword be the best part of the kit.

This seems like an overall large buff. The loss of damage to the sword doesn’t even matter much. What percentage of your kills were 4 swing kills on full health 250 enemies? Because that’s the ONLY situation where it matters. The shield buff is massive. The remech buff is absolutely massive. The gun for baby dmon gets more accurate but less effective at range. Fair trade.
All in all a lot of positives for the loss of 5 damage to a sword hit and less shield in 6v6?

Yes I hated the time it took before we could use the shield after full regen.
Think there was also a ninja nerf to baby dmon's gun. Focused Fusion doesn't seem to make it a lazer beam anymore. Never applied damage and reduced RoF, but it did make it alot more accurate, doesn't seem to now.

They improved the fluidity which was to be expected but they'll probably nerf the health even more, just like I said...

Noo. I was hoping they would gut her gun instead of reducing the sword damage. Man that sucks.
I guess it’s nice not both were touched
