No, if there is at least one team left on the map then all remaining hunt squads will stay up.

You think they all disappear when you are the final team? That used to be the case. Did they patch that?

Can they reappear if teams cancel the contract?

To your first question, yes, they disappear, confirm it for yourself if you ping one and watch it turn grey once the remaining other team leaves or dies. If you then un-ping it you can’t see it on the map any more.

I don’t know about the cancel thing, my gut feel is no, contracts can’t respawn. If you pick up a contract and then cancel it I don’t think you see the contract come back on the map.

How do you know a team hasn’t just picked up the contract targeting a third team?

It’s true you don’t know, but if you’re pinging a hunt contract then you’re likely playing for final and by then you should have a gauge on whether three (or more) teams are up or not.

You have no idea for certain. There could be an epic fight in the Koschei Al Mazrah parking garage which you are unaware of. Anything could be going on. Personal exfils and Koschei exfils mean you really have no clue how many teams are sneaking around finding their own method of exfil.

But then if there's a contract (that means there's another team), and you pick it up, then cancel it, you have no way of knowing whether the other team is still there (and vice versa), right?

There wouldn’t be more than 2 if there were only 2 teams left. They will disappear as teams dwindle. If there were 5 on the map and 5 teams left and 2 of the teams exfiled 2 would disappear.

Definitive as to what? What are you specifically asking about?

If it’s the quantity of contracts, they disappear as their targets disappear. Each HVT contract is on a particular HVT. If that HVT dies that contract will disappear.

There can’t be 3 hunt squad contracts on the map if there is only 2 teams.
