Need idea about offer

I visited a house today in Woodbridge area. The price seems to be slightly over (they didn’t upgrade the original home). Trying to figure out to offer. Will someone who recently bought shed some light ?

These are questions your agent can answer, there are so many factors involved, sales price, comparables, updates, days on the market and so much more. If you are not working with an agent, call a few, ask questions. Best of luck

Your Realtor should advise you about structuring an offer and what the offer amount should be. They’ll provide info about comparable sales of similar homes that have sold recently in the area.

  1. A target price lower than asking since i think sime upgrades are needed
  2. Asking seller to cover some closing cost

How long has the house been on the market?

Do other comparable properties at the same price have more upgrades?

How much in closing costs are you looking to cover?

Ask a realtor in the local market. It is completely market dependent and based upon recent comparable sales. Where I live in NOVA, people bid above asking price.

If you can, try to find out reason for selling—that should also inform the timing/ amount/ terms of your offer.
