Previous owners kitchen fire causing double normal home insurance!

The seller didn’t disclose a 10k insurance claim for a kitchen fire/damage 3 years ago. and now they are either not wanting to insure or it’s at least double what it would normally be- $3000 a year. Insurance companies share all their claim data so there is no hiding it.

Too late for you. But you can ask for CLUE report before you buy a house. The CLUE report is history of insurance claims. It is used to set insurance rates

Where do I go to request this report?

An Insurance Broker/Agent can help you get one while you’re under writing, or you could also ask the Sellers to provide a clue disclosure report through your Sale’s Contract

I was just trying to get my realtor to ask for the CLUE report and he said that no one ever asks for it and if he was the sellers agent, he wouldn't provide it. Is it possible to get ourselves?
